Alaska debris

Just saw on the news tonight that a 70 ft long piece of dock from Japan's tsunami has washed up on the Oregon coast. That's a pretty big hunk!

 

** sorry, meant to title this "Tsunami debris". I obviously have Alaska burned on the brain right now lol

I saw that on the news last evening.

 

There will be more debris.

Although most of the debris water-logged and sunk long ago, thete was so much stuff washed out to sea that from time to time we will see a news item about the kinds of stuff that is found washed up on the beach.

Was up there two weeks ago between Vaancouver and Whittier, we never saw, or heard of any debries in the waters.

"Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., called on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to redouble its efforts to track the debris, saying something as big as the dock could pose a danger to ships at sea."
