pampaul Posted June 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2012 I've only been on one Disney cruise (back in 2008) and I remember they had passed out little wands with streamers on the end of them to wave around during the sail away party. Now I'm reading some trip reports and see some of them now have these awesome, big Mickey hands. Were they only passed out during "special" sailings like an inaugural one? Or does every sailing get them? We'll be on the Fantasy in less than two weeks and I'm hoping we'll get those awesome hands. ***and can you keep them? dfb Posted June 10, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 10, 2012 I've only been on one DCL cruise, the inaugural Hawaiian, but we did get to get our awsome big hands on a stick.
pampaul Posted June 11, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted June 11, 2012 Yeah, that's what I'm wondering about.....I'm thinking maybe it's only on inaugural cruises. I hope not. I'd love to get those. So cute!!!

MoreMouse Posted June 11, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 11, 2012 We've been on the Magic twice and we didn't get anything either. You can always go online and buy the big mickey gloves to wave. ;)
DisneyKidsDad Posted June 11, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 11, 2012 We've been on the Magic twice and we didn't get anything either. You can always go online and buy the big mickey gloves to wave. ;) Then you could have the characters sign them on the cruise!! :D
AmbeeBee Posted June 11, 2012 #7 Share Posted June 11, 2012 I was on the Magic three weeks ago, and all we got was those red streamers...and a yummy sail away drink ;)
jiminyC_fan Posted June 15, 2012 #8 Share Posted June 15, 2012 We have sailed 11 times. The only time you get the hands on the stick is for the specialty cruises.
A2ZMOMMY Posted June 17, 2012 #9 Share Posted June 17, 2012 We have been on multiple Disney Cruises and we wondered about the hands as well. On probably our 2nd or 3rd they were selling the hands in Mickey's Mates of course that was after we sailed. We ended up buying hands in 2009 when our oldest son worked as a cast member through Disney University at the parks and have brought them with us on all of our subsequent cruises. People have asked us where we got them and I explained that we had bought them ourselves. Our kids love to wear them to the sail away party. Makes it easier to find ourselves on the large screen because we can see the hands. I have done some research and you can buy them online as well. Happy Sailing. I was up at I-Party this past weekend to get some eye patches & pirate hats for Pirate night and saw that they sold what looked like Mickey gloves and something else in a bag, but I didn't think of picking any up while I was there. Now I wish I did. The store is about an hour away, so I don't see myself going up there before we leave. :(
MrFunInTheSun Posted June 17, 2012 #11 Share Posted June 17, 2012 Go to Amazon.com and type in Mickey hands. You can buy them, they are the same ones they sell in the parks. coasterwiggs Posted June 17, 2012 #12 Share Posted June 17, 2012 I bought mine on Ebay for a 2010 Magic cruise. Loved them so much I have taken them on other, non-Disney cruises. So many people admire them at sailaway and ask if I got them on a Disney cruise.
