Rare mizLORInj Posted June 11, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2012 Very individual and personal decision. I have seen from $0 to $20. I keep in mind they are performing a service. Sometimes tips are pooled. So last cruise we did a tour and there was the guide and 2 drivers. I was figuring out what to give each and then the guide came around with a bucket and so I just put it all in there. She said it would be pooled. Rare Keith1010 Posted June 11, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 11, 2012 What is customary tipping amount for drivers and guides for private port tours? Where are you traveling? That is a big consideration. Keith
cb at sea Posted June 11, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 11, 2012 If it's simply transportation, we tip little, if at all....after all, you've paid for the drive! If it's a tour and the guide is really fun and informative, we'll tip $10-20, depending on length of tour. If they aren't very good, no tip is needed or deserved. It's really a personal choice dependant on the value you feel you've received.
Rare Azulann Posted June 12, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 12, 2012 For two of us we tip the driver $5.00 and the tour guide 10-20 dollars depending on how imformative they are during the tour.
