I always book and make sure my name is listed first...and I am also almost 9 years older than my husband so I have seniority :D He knows better than to mess with our vacations.

quote=kyrisong1;34175846]I always book our cruises, through Carnival or Celebrity and I am always the primary person, so the man is NOT always going to come first and again, he is 11 years older than me so the older one is not either.

For us it's the one who books is the primary person.

OP if you booked the cruise (and I even use my husbands Sea Miles card to book btw) and you put yourself as primary they switched it, which for me would be unacceptable, I don't want anyone changing what I've done with my bookings, does it matter? Probably not but it's still the principle of the thing!!!

I posted my question on the FB Carnival page. Someone said they listed the oldest person first which is fine. I was just thinking it was some sexist thing and I was getting annoyed.

Life must be good if I'm paying attention to green stars...

Just sounds like maybe you are a control freak? Paranoid because someone else is firts?

Rude. Just a simple question.

When I notice something I want an answer to, I ask.

I find this thread quite interesting since it seems to be not a structured way of doing it.

You got "control freak and paranoid" from my question? Really?

I could be missing your point entirely because I'm not sure what "firts" means. It sounds awful and maybe I should be paranoid of it.

I'm also far too lazy to be a control freak.

I think you were a little out of line... It's a interesting question and I for one would wonder why my husband was always listed first on these things as he only shows up to the vacation I take care of all the planning. But I think my PVP knows that and always makes me primary.

He does end up getting all the after cruise emails which he forwards to me so that I can complete the reviews.

Odd that there seems to be no obvious reason. I don't recall wo was listed as primary when I was married. Now it's DD only that I curise with and I book everything (did before, too, when it was the three of us) and am listed as primary.

I understand how it can both people. A couple years ago, I bought a new car. I did it by myself on my credit and financed it in my name alone. Yet, they still set correspondence to my husband. WTH?

Firts is awful. Be afraid. Be very afraid. ;)

That's right I remember when I bought my car, 10 years ago, the thank you letter was made out to my boyfriend. He didn't buy the car, he didn't fill out any of the paperwork but the letter was still addressed to him. That did piss me off.

I am feeling left out because I don't see a star or a "primary" listing on my boarding pass for our cruise in July!!

I booked and paid for 9 people.......I think I should at least get a star!!!

Am I lookin in the wrong place?

I know sometimes things are strange. When my mother died (my father died before her) I inherited her house. When we sold it, my husband had to sign the paperwork. The information was sent to the IRS. He was listed as responsible for any taxes due. But at no time was he ever listed as owning the house. It was in my name only. They said I couldn't sell it without his signature. Now that really bothered me.

I wasn't looking on the boarding pass. I was looking under "My Cruise Manager"

Now da man has a red star. What's up with that? I think Carnival is toying with me.

I understand the OP's frustration. I booked and paid for our family of four and a second cabin for my MIL. She is listed as the primary, and everything goes to her email first. This is really an issue as she passed away 2 months ago and is obviously no longer cruising with us. :( I called Carnival and they cannot or will not change me to the primary. So someone has to forward us all of her emails. This is ridiculous, it's hard enough with her loss.

OK I called Carnival (I'll do anything to procrastinate going to the gym) and the person I spoke to was less than enthused. Wow. I felt kind of bad bothering her about my silly question.

So the answer is "It's what the system does. No reason." After reading YoungGangMom's post, I made sure that I'm listed as the person who gets the information and I am.

I guess requesting a supervisor isn't a bad idea. It's just been hard to deal with in general.

I'll let you know what I find out and be more persistent. You would think that they could do something fairly easy. When I spoke to them last I let them know the set of circumstances and while they understood my situation they said they couldn't change things on their end. Her cruise is cancelled for obvious reasons and she is still listed as the primary and she isn't even going. Weird process.

This kind of thing annoys me to no end. I was in a restaurant in Disney world where I handed the credit card to the server and when he returned with the card and the bill to be signed he handed it to my dad (I was 35 at the time so it's not like I was really young).

For our upcoming cruise, I am listed as primary and I am the youngest on the reservation - of course, it was booked under my casino rate so that might be why I'm listed as primary.

OK, so this is what happened. After speaking with a Carnival rep I was able to have my name added to the reservation booked by (I did book it, not her so why I need to be added is strange.) and since I was have the password for her Carnival account, I was able to go into it online and change her email address to mine, so I will get all of her Carnival email directly, although they will still be in her name. They said they just can't remove her name from the booking and frankly I don't care as long as I get the emails, it's not worth the fight.
