Rude Behavior

I have seen many posters complaining about rude behavior and drinking. I would like to hear about some experiences people have had with such drinking and rude behavior, what is it that people were doing to be considered rude?

Wwe had a group of middle aged drunken jerks simulation group fornication on the pool wall at the main pool, using very loud profanity all while the kiddies were playing.

then 2 of them thought it was funny to throw the back massage thingie into the pool, where it just got worse. took about 5 minutes before the security guard made them stop.

Just on my last cruise-

Line cutting. (happened a few times, not enough to ruin my cruise)

Yelling and screaming in the halls all drunk. (happened a few times, not enough to ruin my cruise though, it quieted down real quick when one of their sober friends spoke to them)

Hanging out in the halls like dey wuz back in da hood. Music playing from the room loud containing tons of profanity. (thankfully they were near the front of the ship so I didnt have to deal with that so very minimal impact on my cruise)

Same hoodrats from above later on the cruise "dancing" on the promenade on front of the club. By "dancing" I mean one girl with her hands on her ankles shaking her arse while a guy stood behind here and dry humped her into oblivion. (Again not enough to ruin my vacation or even close)

We don't deal with hoodrats on a daily basis and that's a big reason we book on Princess. A little more refined. I'm not uppity but I don't need that crap on vacation.

My hall was quiet.. never heard anyone argue, play too loud of music or act the fool.... and I don't remember seeing any drunks on the Valor until the second to last night...

But in their defense it was at 1:30 in the morning and to me it was the most hilarious thing I've ever seen. We were taking the aft stairs from the Piano Bar to Deck 7 and as we reached our deck so did one of the elevators. We are coming up the last stairs and a middle aged man walks out of the elevator and behind him is wife "falls" out... shes half laying in the elevator and half on the floor. My husband nearly stopped to help, when stopped the middle aged husband turns around to help his wife and also falls over and they are both rolling around on the floor. It was pretty obvious they were wasted... we were laughing so hard... I was already around the corner near the doors and I heard her say "I'm out, I'm out!!!!"... we took off down the hallway giggling... funniest stuff ever!

We probably should have stopped and helped them both but it was just... omgoodness

I also don't need that crap on vacation, but we saw more drunken behavior on Princess than we've ever seen on Carnival. One woman was so wasted she passed out into my husband's lap. He didn't mind. LOL.

We've had "hoodrats" like this on both of our Western Caribbean cruises out of Miami... didn't see any on our Eastern or Southern.... it's kinda wierd..

I am thinking it was because it was a 4 day cruise. I didn't see it on my 7 day on the Carnival Liberty last year. Sadly I kind of expected it on this cruise. Still though is was just a couple instances.

Was really hoping to not deal with it at all but for the price point on a 4 day, it was expected to some degree. I must say I still had an awesome cruise.

Give Carnival a shot on a 7 day and its a different experience for sure as far as passenger make up goes.

Last October on the Triumph, we saw a couple of groups that were just obnoxious and rude....they seem to be the focus of other people also.....one group was a fairly large family and their ringleader seem to think she was on a private cruise, and expected people to vacate tables so she could rearrange the furniture to fit them all at one time on the Lido...literally saw her on the very first hour of the very first day, gathering up most all the tables on the smoking side of the Lido so her ENTIRE family could be together and made no bones about saying very loudly to all of us looking for a place to put our carry-ons down and sit and relax, that we were SOL...very brass and rude the entire cruise.....she would even get her minions to help move the chaise chairs around the Lido to accomodate them however she felt like....unbelievable....LOL...

But the real group that the majority of the passengers were talking about, were a group of about 8-10 couples that considered being the drunkest and loudest and most disgusting people on board to be a honor. The women could not keep the bodies from gyrating and ooching on the men, CONSTANTLY, every day, during Lido activities, night shows, you name it...they were everywhere and always disgusting with their actions and their attitudes....one of the females entered the Hairy Chest contest, yes, the Hairy Chest contest and she had on this stupid looking fake breast get up under her dress and had no problem showing itand also had some kind of long hairy tail that hung from the bottom of her dress. The asst. cruise director told her at least 3-4 times that she could not be showing the fake whatever it was , because there were children all over, and several of the passengers were hollering to KICK HER OUT of the contest...needless to say, she did get booted out.The most discusting group we have ever came across, and if I would have been them, they should of been embarrased by their actions, but then again some people I guess have no brain matter and find their actions cute and funny...NOT

Glad I am a people watcher, because watching these groups made me feel a WHOLE lot better about my quite, wallflower self....LOL

I'm going on my upcoming B2B (three-day followed by a four-day) with that attitude as well. I'm expecting more partying and rudeness but definitely won't let it ruin my cruises. :D

The worst one we've ever seen was on our last cruise on the Dream. By their accent, we guessed that they were from NJ or NY. At the table next to us were some teenage boys. They were having fun and weren't really bothering anybody. Shortly, their mother showed up and started yelling at them for not paying attention to their little brother.

One of the boys got kind of mouthy and wound up throwing a plate of french fries at the little brother. The mother then started screaming and hauled off and started beating on the one that threw the fries. Everybody in the place stopped dead in their tracks to see what was going on. Shortly a guard showed up and escorted her off before they exchanged a few colorful words.

OP, not sure how much you go out at home or where you live but we very rarely, except on occasion witness anything that we find alarming. Most of it makes us laugh.

People will be rude and think this is THEIR cruise and cut in line at the buffet and for the bathrooms and the shows, but that happens at the buffets and stuff here too.

We also happen to go out a lot at home so we see drunk people all of the time and I have never seen anything that I have ever considered over the top.

I will say that the entitlement of some people is the worse. Those that think they can save chairs and seats and the cruise ship should stop for them. They treat the staff like servants and expect the world. Fortunately this is usually only a select few on each cruise, of which someone usually at some point puts in their place...

I have mostly seen "drunken" behavior that is harmless and just fun; but there was one time in Cozumel. A 40 something WAY OVER WEIGHT AND HUGE BREASTED Mother was dancing on the table at Fat Tuesday's showing and rubbing and allowing young men to touch her breasts. Totally disgusting - finally, her 20 something son and daughter got her off the table and drug her back to the ship.

We saw her two or three times on the cruise that week - and needless to say, her tricks at Fat Tuesday's continued throughout the cruise, regardless of where she was. (YIKES)

Just to balance some of the horror stories about short cruises, our last Carnival trip was a 4-day out of L.A., going to Catalina and Ensenada and I don't remember any wild or rude or lewd behavior at all.

It was October, so I guess that meant college kids were in school and all, but plenty of other youngish people were in the mix. So for those thinking the short ones are always party boats ... not always.

I've seen lots of silly somewhat obnoxious drunks on every line & even more plain old rude people, but these stand out. Most of these were on cruises of 5 days or less, for what it's worth.

1. Very drunk group of 20-something's screaming the F-word repeatedly in the casino (& they weren't even playing/losing!) Destiny

2. Very drunk teenager begging us to help him find his room but he forgot the room number. Fantasy

3. Serious domestic disturbance across the hall requiring security intervention. Fantasy

4. A couple (part of a group) simulating sex acts at the pool and exposing body parts my kids and I did not need to see!! Sensation
