Rude Behavior

6 night cruise on the Valor June 3. The club was a total hip hop younging party. DH and I tried to enjoy it to the best of our ability. Drunk girl on the dance floor. She was wearing a spandex dress. The more she danced the higher the dress went. Got so bad that her white lace panties were showing. The man behind her was grinding all over her butt. DH and I thought they had to be a couple. After a couple of dances they left each other.

She began dancing with a new man. Same thing, dressed pulled up, panties showing...but this man took his hands and began rubbing her "panty line" She did not stop him and was clearly enjoying it.

Security comes over and whispers something. They stop.

Same girl dancing with guy number 3. Grabs her ankles and shakes her butt on him.  his friend comes up and they have her in a sandwich. Security runs over and escorts the girl out.

She's pissed. Yelling she's just having fun..yadda yadda.

My worst experience was on the Liberty in the Med in 2006. My mother who was 81 at the time and I were doing the last cruise in Europe before the ship sailed back to the US.

The cruise was wonderful but the general rudeness during the cruise was disappointing....We were debarking in Barcelona. We had just started to go down the stairs with our excursion group. There was a couple in the 60's in front of me that were fighting becuse she wanted him to move faster and he was no in any hurry. The f bombs were flying! Finally she kept going and he held back.

My Mother and I were in the gangway (I like to stop and get a photo, I know alot of people don't like that, but I like to get those photos). We stopped to smile and out of nowhere this same guy came running down the gangway, hit me like a linebacker causing me to knock into my mother almost making her fall. He never even stopped.

It took everything I had to stop myself from falling and trying to grab her at the same time to keep her from falling....

We make our way to the bus for the excursion and guess who is seated in the front seat??? Yep, Ms F bomb and Mr Linebacker. She was in a hurry to grab the front seats of the coach!

I sent my Mother on her way to find us a seat and I leaned in VERY Close to his face and in my most "inside voice" reminded him that he should be very glad I am a lady and that "my Brooklyn" was in check because he was an embarrassment that he thought it was OK to almost knock over the two of us and one of us being 81 years old.

I still cringe all these years later when I think what could have happened if she had actually fallen:(

We've been pretty lucky

The rudest behaviour we ever saw was at the Lido buffet - saw a family talking amongst themselves and a 5-6 year old boy was licking the top of the salt shaker. Mother kept on gabbing away and eventually reached down and pushed the shaker away.

Minute later, the boy reached over and grabbed the salt shaker and continued to lick away.

The father finally said they needed to go and the mother looked at her child and told him they were leaving and to stop doing that - that he didn't know where the salt shaker had been!!:eek::eek:

I feel bad for any newbies reading this thread. They're going to think they'll be on a ship full of loud, obnoxious, drunks who pee on you, scream at you, run around the ship with wild abandon, and moon you! LOL.

Note to newbies: in 8 cruises I've seen behavior like this very rarely and most of it is just people weaving because they've had a bit too much. My cruise has never been impacted other than a momentary notice of the behavior! :D

I am so glad you posted:) I am a newbie and the thought of being stuck on a ship with a bunch of people as described above has me in a cold sweat:eek: Starting to imagine myself on my balcony ordering room service to avoid the mayhem...Hopefully we wont encounter any of the above

I witnessed several drunk 30 ish women blow up a three foot penis And proceed in the pool filled iwith young children:eek:They were ramming it up each others butt and playing ring toss with it , in front of these kids:eek:

Seriously though , couldn't believe staff didn't say anything or did these ladies who looked like they could have had their own children give a crap !!! Omg ?....rude , obnoxious and way out of line with children present !

Agree completely and started thinking about that after I posted. I have been on 22 CCL cruises and have only witnessed a handful of times, behavior that was out of hand. :D

We have had all very nice cruises until our last. Everything about the cruise and ports were fine except our neighbors. We were on an 8 day out of New York with a balcony and had the rudest neighbors I think we could have had.

There were three young men sharing a room and would spend a lot of time out on the balcony describing their exploits, conquests etc. They were very, drunk, very loud and very obnoxious all of the time - except for the few hours they slept - 4am - 9am.

All night long their balcony door would slam as they and their many new friends could not decide if they wanted to be in the cabin or on the balcony.

The ironic thing is...all I wanted to on this vacation was sit on a quiet balcony and read as I had a very demanding semester.

I feel blessed to not have any stories to share. Of course I could probably share a story or two about myself on my first cruise after having been divorced and a single mom for 5 years. It was my first real get away... Single...first time (and last) in a Carlos n Charlie's .... A hangover on a ship isn't fun. Thinking "oh I'll never see these people again" doesn't work when your on a cruise ship... I made lots of new friends :)

The rudest two incidents we've seen involved NO drinking whatsoever. Our last cruise on the Valor was with a group of Panamanians celebrating their Independence Day. For some reason they thought they were entitled to be FIRST in every line along with their 2000 countrymen. It was incredible trying to get off the ship or get anything involving a line.

Our introduction to Carnival was a small Asian child pushing his own stroller while we checked in. His parents obviously had no problem with the fact he spent about 10 minutes running it into our shins!!! What is wrong with people???

Only one... and I didn't cruise for 6 years after. Fantasy 4 day Bahamas 2005. This guy obviously had too many DODs to begin his cruise. He was slightly in front of me as I was leaving the MDR, he stopped, staggered, bent over and vomited GALLONS all over the floor and splashed literally dozens of people... me included. Okay, I'm grossed out.... later that night ran into him AGAIN, staggering down my hall, bumping from wall to wall still wearing his vomit stained suit. OMG... never had this happen on a 7 day cruise. This is why I never cruise Carnival for short trips. Way too many whoo hoo people.

I am very sensative to what I consider to be rude behavior. I have been on five cruises (two RCL, two Celebrity, and one CCL), and I don't remember any rude behavior at all. Unless you count the maitre d' on our first cruise. Never saw him the entire cruise until last night when he shook my husband's hand, introduced himself -- on the last night -- and wondered where his tip was.

That erks me more than anything. Our last cruise was the only time I saw and met ours. Other than that...never!

LOL. Glad it helped! I was enjoying reading all the stories because I know how rare these things really are and the thought hit me that if I'd never cruised before it would completely turn me off from cruising altogether! Just wanted to balance it a little for any newbies reading the thread. We've loved every one of our cruises and I can't wait to get back on a ship! You can probably tell if you look at my signature since I currently have four cruises booked! LOL.

Just reading your post, I just got sooo grossed out....

Ewwww....I don't blame you for not wanting to cruise for a while after an incident like that!!
