newbieMom Posted July 3, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2012 I wondered if there is a standard tip amount for excursions? A percentage maybe? If the excursion includes transportation from the port, do you tip the driver AND the guide or just the lead person in hopes that it will be pooled? flounder315 Posted July 3, 2012 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2012 I plan on taking $5 & $10 bills for tipping the drivers and guides. That way I can give it to them individually. The guide that spends the entire day with us will probably get 2 $10's Better service = better tip But if a driver just drops us off at the location he would get a $
Herfnerd Posted July 3, 2012 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2012 I usually tip based on how good the service was - don't think there really is a set amount or percentage....
firefly333 Posted July 3, 2012 #4 Share Posted July 3, 2012 I only tip if I like them for carnival excursions .. but believe me both the driver and the guy who leads you will have their hands out to get those tips. I have also tipped $20 on a excursion thru Victor Bodden that only cost me $25 .. it was terrific.
Cgsanders Posted July 3, 2012 #5 Share Posted July 3, 2012 I too tip but totally based on Service. GC excursion that we took was incredible = big tip for driver & tourguide. In Roatan not so much, she was rude and unhelpful until it came time to tip her....
