Rare northwoods2 Posted May 10, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2005 We have a glacier trek booked with Northstar from 9:00 - 1:15 and then a whale watching trip with Captain Larry at 3:00. They have told us that Northstar will bring us back to town and then we meet Captain Larry there. My question - should we see if they can drop us off at Mendenhall Glacier and then have Captain Larry pick us up there? Or will we only get the same information or less than we got on the glacier trek? If we go back into town we could grab some lunch somewhere. I've just read other threads that suggest not taking the trip all the way back into town - that it's a waste of time. What to you experts think? Budget Queen Posted May 10, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2005 It's not a waste of time, but a time saver with some combo booked tours. Yours has time in between so go back to town and eat your lunch. :) You do get a view of Mendenhall from your shuttle, if you need more than that, look at the Mendenhall drop off, but bring your own food and drink, none at the visitor center.
