Normandy from Honfleur??

We are considering a cruise that stops in Honfleur. Can we tour the Normandy beaches from that port?

Absolutely, but you will either need to book a tour or rent a car. It is about a 1 1/2 hour drive to Omaha Beach and the American Cemetary (used for the opening shots in "Saving Private Ryan").

Honfleur is about 30 minutes closer to the D-Day beaches than they are from Le Havre.

About an hour from the nearest point (Pegasus Bridge, between Caen & Ouistreham) & as Hank's post about 90 minutes from Omaha Beach/American cemetery at Colleville-sur-mer, which is the major sight for US visitors. Those times via the main A13, add mebbe 20 - 30 mins via the more attractive coast road thro' Trouville/Deauville.

Public transport isn't an option - a tour or car/driver or self-drive car
