We are looking into an Alaskan Cruise in AUGUST 2013 out OF Seatle any reccomdions ?

Most cruise lines do the same basic ports on a 7 day Alaskan cruise.

Some lines stop at Sitka . Beautiful little town and easily walked .

My advice would be to look at all the various itineraries of the various lines and pick one that most interests you.

I agree. This is where we start.

Figure out the length of the cruise, where you want to begin and end and what ports you want to visit and if you want to spend a day or so cruising glaciers such as Glacier Bay. Then from there figure out what cruise line(s) best match up with what you want and then if there are multiple ones and you need an opinion be sure to come back to the board to ask.

Be certain that you get to see glaciers- some cruises do not. You might also want to look at cruises out of Vancouver (sorry- I know you didn't ask) because the trip up or down between the mainland and Vancouver Island is really spectacular.
