LAI Posted July 13, 2012 #26 Share Posted July 13, 2012 I had gotten them before on prior cruises as i found out you could right here on CC but on our last one they said only if you plan on playing the slots, and no longer were they available for the kids. They wouldn't even just punch a hole in our son's s&s card. My husband went to guest services to get a hole punched in it (and they willingly did); DH put DS' card on his spring coiled lanyard along with his card so DS wouldn't lose it. Our son didnt go to Camp Carnival so he was always with us. Chalked it up to further cutbacks but apparently it's not fleet wide after all. bluehenfan Posted July 13, 2012 Author #27 Share Posted July 13, 2012 Thank you for all the replies and suggestions. I referred to it as a lanyard, but it was the coiled springy thing. As I said, I have lots of them from local casinos so bringing my own would not have been a problem. Still going to take one just in case, and will try casino 1st for hole punch. If that doesn't pan out I'll try guest services.
going to see the world Posted July 14, 2012 #28 Share Posted July 14, 2012 Saw a bunch of people getting them from the casino a couple of weeks ago on the Glory.
Cruisin'Doc Posted July 14, 2012 #29 Share Posted July 14, 2012 They had the lanyards/springy cords on the Spirit in May, and they have on every ship I have been on. I suspect they were just out of them on the other ship at the time, perhaps.
foxesden1 Posted July 14, 2012 #30 Share Posted July 14, 2012 On the Magic last week, Guest Services was not punching cards. They were sending everyone to the Casino. The Casino was not handing out landyards. They were handing out plastic, springy chords with a ring for your card at one end and a clip to clip to your clothes at the other. Most people were just clipping the clip to the ring and wearing it as a necklace. Yep I have two of these, from Jan and April
Rosefloater Posted July 14, 2012 #31 Share Posted July 14, 2012 A lot of Vegas casinos are now handing out similar (springy cord) lanyards. We prefer the longer elastic (bungie cord) style...but heck we got tons at home so we bring with us what suits us best lol. The best type of lanyard I ever got at a Casino in Laughlin was a retractable one (looks like a small tape measure).

Cruisin'Doc Posted July 14, 2012 #33 Share Posted July 14, 2012 The best type of lanyard I ever got at a Casino in Laughlin was a retractable one (looks like a small tape measure). I have had those before, Rose - if I remember correctly, I bought it at an office supply store. That WAS really handy. The one I had did not hang, though, it was a clip on, so no irritating my neck! student again Posted July 14, 2012 #34 Share Posted July 14, 2012 We were on the Splendor on June 24th and only got the springy ones. Great idea to save the debarkation tags for the next cruise. I always get great ideas from you guys.
