No more lanyards from casino ???

In a review I read recently the OP said the casinos no long give out free lanyards. I've got quite a few from our local casinos so I will bring one from home, but do I have to buy a hole punch for my cruise ? I am terrible about leaving card in slot machine if I don't have a lanyard attached. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have about 8 from prior cruises. Maybe I should see if I can sell them on eBay, along with my leftover #1 disembarkation tags. :p

I have a lanyard from my Behind The Fun tour that I bring now because I don't like the springy ones anyway.

Maybe this was an isolated experience. Sometimes ships do run out of things or a shipment is delayed and misses the boat. Literally.

If you really want to know, you could probably email the Players Club. The casinos are run by contractors, anyway, aren't they? Like the spa and stores?

You can get your card hole punched at Guest Services.

Didn't know that. Thanks!

It would be nice to get it punched as soon as I board, before there's anyone in the casino and before I have the chance to misplace it! :o

On the Magic last week, Guest Services was not punching cards. They were sending everyone to the Casino.

The Casino was not handing out landyards. They were handing out plastic, springy chords with a ring for your card at one end and a clip to clip to your clothes at the other. Most people were just clipping the clip to the ring and wearing it as a necklace.

I guess every ship is different. I saw them doing it on the Splendor but it was for a child. Maybe they make it an exception if it is for a child and send the adults to the casino.

Those are what people refer to as lanyards.

I take my own whole punch. The casino one is very small and they have to punch a few times to make a decent hole.

A lot of Vegas casinos are now handing out similar (springy cord) lanyards. We prefer the longer elastic (bungie cord) style...but heck we got tons at home so we bring with us what suits us best lol.

We got some of those coily-telephone cordy type things with a clip that people call lanyards from the casino in November. It's the same thing you get when you join the players clubs in the casinos and they attach to your card and then clip to you somewhere.

Not quite a "lanyard" as we were led to believe on here before we sailed.. which would be a necklace type item that held a S&S card. It wasn't worth asking for and would have actually been a bit embarassing to wear around the ship for the kids, so we just kept the casino thingies in the cabin and let them use some real "around the neck" lanyards we brought with us.

Most of the casinos I have been to in Vegas over the last ten years have been giving out the coiled lanyards.......

We got the springy cords on the Spirit 2 weeks ago, just like the ones we got on the Miracle last year. They had several people in the casino punching holes and giving out the springy cords the first day. I have the fabric Carnival lanyard I bought years ago that I always take, but DH is happy with the springy cord he wears as a necklace.

After reading about getting the cards punched in the casino I went there on our recent Dream cruise. The employee I asked said they don't do that and I had to go to the gift shop. We ended up purchasing the regular lanyards and they punched them for us too. Now we have them for our next cruise I guess.

I got a plastic, stringy cord on the Legend last week from the Casino. They punched the hole there. Had a great time, by the way!:D

That's what I got on the Conquest cruise for July 1. Had a great time in the casino even though I winded up losing.what I won and more. Hey, I was the dummy who played it back. :p:p:p. That's because the shows were no good IMO so I spent more time in the casino. Still had a great time. :)

I'm in the minority. I like the coils we get at the casino. I am able to clip my coil to my purse. When we sail with teenagers they get rid of the coil. They use the ring and clip to attach it to their belt loops.
