Tom-n-Cheryl, I see you cruise a lot (probably an understatement since you're milestone) and are from FL. Where do you park in Miami? We usually park at the port, but would love to find a cheaper, but safe alternative.

Thanks.

We basically just go for the "easy" option and pay out the wazoo... It's up to $20/day in Miami (it has been for about a year or so). At least there they "only" charge you for 7 days of parking with a 7 night cruise. It is my understanding that in Pt. Canaveral now you pay for the day you arrive AND leave (thus a 7 night cruise sets you back 8 days of parking). They have also been doing things to reduce the competition from other lots - including charging more for each shuttle which brings people and not issuing new permits. Parking is big $'s to them, and they don't want to share!

How were the Guys burgers? In my head, I think they are like a 5 Guys burger...is this on the mark? I plan to try one topped with mushrooms, but without the bun (low carb).

I know my DH will love the Alchemy Bar. When it was the Paparazzi bar, there was a bartender (Tommy) who made the best tiramisu martini. We will have to watch the bar bill, because those cocktails sound right up DH's ally!

Where is Tommy...I just loved him????

I just got off Liberty too.... same one. LOVED THE BURGERS and I DONT EAT BURGERS.... My daughter who is so picky, loved the burgers. THey taste different then regular bbq or grill burgers. I don't know what it is but I'm suspecting SALT, hahaha... But what the heck... Vacation time!!! ALSO Chocolate Melting Cake- best thing I have ever tasted in my life!!!!I will book Carnival again just for this cake, hahaha...

Glad you enjoyed the cruise, so did we...

Embark was good. Get there at 1030 so you can sit and wait in the lobby area. I wouldn't want to stand in the line for 2 hours. We were on board by noon and we were not VIP. I am thinking if you got there at noon, you would of been standing for a while in the line. Lots of lines with Carnival I noticed but heck, where do you have to go except to eat AGAIN.

Have any recent Liberty cruisers seen him?? He was so pleasant and really went out of his way to be social!!

I've heard he's on the Fascination right here out of J'ville.

Not Tom-n-Cheryl, nor do I play either one on TV, but I parked at a lot about a mile from port. It was less than $5 a day, no frills. Here's a link to my description of the place from my review earlier this year. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=32213566&postcount=2

I just youtube'd the Alchemy Bar because I didn't know what it was... WOW. Interesting. Did the drinks typically cost more in that bar or were they about the same? And what was with the prescription pad? That's weird.

For as many drinks as I bought at the Alchemy bar you'd think I would have the price memorized. All I can recall is a premium martini was in the neighborhood of $9 (with gratuity) so that probably makes them $8. But they had a drink special every day, and a few times throughout the week you could get a premium upgrade for the regular price a $1 savings. :D

Thanks for the heads up about the parking place. This particular lot gets such mixed reviews, but hearing first hand you had no problems is great.

I noticed in your review you said you had cabin 1004, obstructed view. We also have an obstructed view, and I was curious about the twins being able to be moved to a king. I looked on the Liberty deck plan and I do not see a 1004 on the deck plan...did you perhaps have 1204? We have 6206 booked and found out after we booked it that it's a HC room. We would really like a king bed, so don't know whether to switch to another room or take our chances with this one (understanding of course, we could be bumped if a HC person needs the room, which is fine).

Thanks again.

Just off the Liberty too....just made it home today, whew what a week. We have a ton (7,000+) photos to narrow down and I'll try to get a review done as well. We did the Chef's table which was amazing, Guy's Burgers were IMO good, Food overall was pretty decent, to beyond all expectations...guess it depended on the day. Had YTD, never waited more than 5-10 minutes.

I liked there was stuff to do after 10PM, we are not big drinkers, but the comedy shows were funny... We sail Princess as well and this was a downside to that cruise line b/c the sidewalk rolled up at 10pm. CCL is a good alternative, both have pro's and cons....glad you all had a great time too....

We were in 6207 last week, and we did have more space and the shower was much much bigger...partner has Harrington rods so mobility was a issue, but this cabin worked out great for us. Only downside is you are at the front of the ship and the balcony is really really windy...also, when the bed is made into a kind if you open the door someone in the hall can see right in, so can be a bit awkward if say one opens the balcony door and the suction opens the cabin door, and well lets just say I think maybe someone could have been flashed inadvertently.

Anyhow, the cabin was great, Jesus, our steward was great...I think you'll like it. :)

Give me the dunce award...I found your cabin on Deck 10. It is above ours in the same spot (we are on deck 6), so I am ever so hopeful our king beds will be able to be moved! Was you cabin HC?

Thanks for the information. We are in 6206, which is not a balcony cabin, but an obstructed view cabin (classified as 4J, HC). There seems to be some confusion on the boards as to whether the king beds in these HC cabins can be moved to make a king.

Thanks again!

Do they have comedy shows every night?? Any adult only shows???

Not every night, but almost. The first show is usually "family friendly" and the rest of the night is 18 and over only.

Refresh my memory, is HMC the only tender port? How does tendering work? DH and I are usually "First tender to the island / last tender off the island" people because we love the water and snorkeling so much. Will we need to get in a line or are there tickets? THANKS for your help - we are only familiar with RCI tendering.

Ours was also a HC cabin, and yes the beds were moved to make a king...hope that helps :)

Punchliner is the name for the comedy club on board....

they usually have 4 different comedians per week-each performing several shows-both family friendly and adult only....

and YES!! the Liberty has it!!! :)

HMC is the only tender port. If you go early to the big lounge in the front of the ship, they will issue you a tender sticker that will get you off the ship the earliest. You'll sit in the lounge until your tender # is called, and then they will escort you downstairs to the tender.

I know it's stupid for asking but I wondered because of the new VIFP. I'm supposed to get a free drink at it. I'm not sure if I would enjoy the comedian thing or not. Guess I might as well try it out.

How do they know when you get your free drink? It is built in to your sign and sail account or something? Or maybe a coupon they give you when you check in?

You don't get a free drink at the Punchliner. The free drink is only for breakfast or lunch in the MDR. On the ships that have the Punchliner brunch, the free drink is for that as well. However, the Liberty doesn't have the Punchliner brunch yet.

When you go to your cabin at embarkation, you'll see your Platinum pin and your letter with coupon for the free drink.

Now this is making sense. Thank you.
