alwalaska Posted May 23, 2005 #27 Share Posted May 23, 2005 I agree with the getting out of the heat. 66 days is too long and waiting until the middle of September like I am is Waaaay too long. This hot this early in the season stinks big time :) I think we both need to stowaway on an Alaskan cruise before our time :) Have a good trip when you finally get there! Karen from Tucson And I am worried that we won't want to go to Alaska next June if we have another Spring like this. I am in Ohio and it has only hit 70+ a couple of times. Our heater is still kicking in sometimes at night when it drops to the 40's. Boy the weather seems to be all mixed up.
booth22 Posted May 23, 2005 Author #28 Share Posted May 23, 2005 Blamar- I like the pictures you added.... And I saw on your website you mentioned 2003.... I don't know if that was referring to the list or not, but our prices were gathered from just a few months ago, so most of the pricing should be correct for the season. Just a heads up.... Glad the info was useful!
Hate 2 W8t Posted May 23, 2005 #29 Share Posted May 23, 2005 My friend sailed out of Vancouver and brought me over 2 of the coupons books last night! she ha gotten them before boarding - looking through them made me even more anixious to go!! We will be leaving out of Seattle and I am hoping they'll have some there as they are really great! Samantha What kind of coupons are in the bag picked up in Vancouver (or Seattle)? Anything that would cause us to wait to schedule an excursion? Or mostly just bogo's for coffee, internet time, etc? TIA,

2fun Posted May 24, 2005 #32 Share Posted May 24, 2005 Can't say if they will be available in San Fran but my friend picked up one on her cruise last week and gave it to me. There are coupons to the stores for discounted and/or free items, mostly T shirts (some 1.99), nicknacks, toys and ulu knives. There is a free train whistle and caps from .99. Some of the coupons have a place for your name and info on the back which the store then puts into a drawing after the cruise season. There is also some info on the different ports. Oh, she got hers in Vancouver - we are sailing out of Seattle so I hope there are some there too. HTH Chole

I'm still hoping someone will be nice enough to grab and extra one or two and send them to me since I dont know if they will have them in San Fran! Hey booth, you have my e-mail. Drop me an address and I'll see if I can score a packet for ya. BTW, my daughter and her family just moved to Queen Creek from Denver in January and she called tonight whining about the heat. "But it's a dry heat!!!" Yeah...right....so is my oven but I don't want to live there. Seriously, I was in Vegas a few years ago at the end of July and it was so hot I thought I was gonna die. Told the daughter if she ever sees me there between mid May and mid September it's a mistake on my part. More power to you for enduring summers there. hermang Posted June 2, 2005 #38 Share Posted June 2, 2005 At the risk of being accused of plagerism - I put together a document consisting of many of the posts here and other info as well as info on the Summit. It is currently about 50 pages of a word document. If any one wants a copy - rather than post and take up valuable server space- drop me an email at hermang@snet.net and I'll be happy to forward you a copy. I did this for ourselves and 2 other couples who are going on the Summit with us in August

kroozroo Posted June 17, 2005 #47 Share Posted June 17, 2005 Thank you so much for this info. You just saved me a whole lot of time. I just booked the NCL Star to Alaska in September. This is our first trip to Alaska and I was starting my research on excursions & things to do when I came across your post. Great info and great links. My husband and I are especially interested in seeing bald eagles. Anyone have specific comments or info about that? Our ports are Juneau, Skagway, Ketchican, and we will be cruising Glacier Bay. Again, thanks so much. (And we love the picture of the smiling dog.)
