biker1972 Posted August 5, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2012 Wanting to book Air Canada from CMH (Columbus,OH) to YVR (Vancouver) with connection in YYZ (Toronto) on May 31, 2013 for cruise leaving June 1. Have many options for flight from Toronto but need to know how much time to allow for border legalities after landing in Toronto. Would 2 hours be enough time? cjpj Posted August 5, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2012 You would go through customs in Vancouver not Toronto.

Usually I go what the airline recommends . If you are booking your own airfare I would personally allow 2 - 2.5 hrs between flights . The biggest hold up could be customs in Toronto depending on the time of day . If you are passing thru Toronto (M-F) in the morning (8AM - 10AM) or (4pm-6PM) also allow extra time to get back thru security. We one time had a tight connection (2 hrs) in Montreal and almost didn't make our flight Vancouver after clearing customs. Yes you'll clear customs in Toronto not Vancouver as a previous poster said. Toronto - Vancouver is also a major route for Air Canada with hourly flights some on wide body aircraft, so the airline can easily move you to another flight if you run into problems. Good chance you will be at the gate with time to spare. BTW, the poster who suggested you would clear Canadian customs in Vancouver is incorrect, that will happen in Toronto and should be fairly quick and painless.
