Would you explain the procedure and cost, if there is any cost, in disembarking at each of the ports? It’s confusing. It’s my understanding that Cannes is the only port that is a “Tender” port?

Barcelona?

Naples?

Civitavecchia?

ill ask thinking about epic for april what kind of cabin did you have im wanting a minisuite... how is the casino???;)

The Casino is right in the middle of Deck 6 - can't miss it even if you wanted to! :) I'm not a fan, so all I can tell you is that it's big and varied.

My husband and I had a B1 category cabin - stern (facing the rear of the ship). The balcony categories are pretty tight! If you're two in a cabin it's just about OK, if you're more, you may want to think about a minisuite.

How are the entertainment?

The entertainment is pretty good. Apart from the shows, if you enjoy live music, there's the Howl at the Moon club and the Slam Allen Band which are fantastic. There's always something to attend every evening!

Hi! My answers in red below! :)

Barcelona?

Charge for Shuttle from Port Entrance to the Ship? there is no shuttle that I am aware of. A taxi takes you right up to the ship.

Naples?

Docked

Charge for Shuttle to/from Ship? It's an easy walk from the ship to right outside port in maximum 10 minutes (walking past some pestering taxi drivers...).

Civitavecchia?

Docked

Charge for Shuttle to/from Ship? Shuttle is free.

Livorno (Pisa/Florence)?

Docked

Charge for Shuttle to/from Ship? Can't help you on this one as we hired a car delivered straight to the quay right off the ship. Very recommendable!

Cannes?

Tender

Charge for Tender to/from Ship? Free. When you get on the ship on the first day, check the entertainment section on your TV, and you'll find you can book a time for you to take the tender to Cannes. The best times of course get filled up quite quickly.

Marseille?

Docked

Charge for Shuttle from Port Entrance to the Ship? This is the only rip-off. Marseilles is about 30-40 minutes away from the port. But unlike in other ports, in this port you either take a taxi which will cost around €20 each way, or you take a shuttle bus which will cost (I believe) €15 each way.

Barcelona?

My questions are what was the drink selections in the buffet for lunch and dinner?

Somene posted a while ago they were trying different flavored waters.

When I was on the Jewel all they had for lunch was unsweetened tea or water. Very disappointing.

Also, what did you do in each port? Was it private or on your own? If private, what company did you use? Can you go into details. What sites where not to be missed?

Thanks in advance.:D

Answers in red below.

My questions are what was the drink selections in the buffet for lunch and dinner? Didn't see flavored waters - tea (unsweetened, but excellent if you add sweetener and lots of lemon and ice:)).

This was our second trip to the same ports, and we did everything alone both times.

So:

Barcelona: We live there :), but there's plenty to do: walking around the Ramblas (watch your bags), Park Guell, Tibidabo, just walking along the beach and stopping at the chiringuitos (beach bars) for lunch...

Naples: we decided to visit the ruins at Ercolano - better preserved than at Pompei, and so much quieter! You get there by train from Naples main station. otherwise Naples is a great place to visit, Capri Island is fantastic too.

Civitavecchia: catch the train to Rome (around 1 hr), or hire a car from Civitavecchia (10 minutes walk from the port) and do your own trips in the smaller towns or the lakes.

Livorno: hired a car which was delivered straight to the quay and spent the day in pretty Lucca. We wanted to avoid busy Florence, but probably worth it if you've never been.

Cannes: you can either stay in Cannes, or take a train to Nice or Monaco or Antibes (watch the train schedules to avoid having to wait for a train for one hour...)

Marseilles: here we stayed on board, as it's not a particularly nice city and we didn't fancy renting a car (and we needed a day of relaxation before returning to Barcelona )

Hope this helps!

Thanks in advance.:D

*Can you tell me more about your B1 cabin? We are booked in one for April and I believe you can either have the bed closer to the door or closer to the balcony?

*Any photos to share?

Thanks:)
