keichman Posted August 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2012 I emailed Blue Lagoon, but never got a response. Could someone who has done the Dolphin Encounter (not the swim) tell me a little about entering and exiting the platform area? I have an 11 year old with special needs who is fearful of going down ladders (if it's short, we are able to lift her down), and a grandmom who has some knee problems. Any information would be helpful. Thanks!
Cruise Envy Posted August 12, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2012 It's a fairly short ladder/stairs. I would think you could lift her down. If you look in the far right of this picture, you can see the down stairs. The next shot gives you an idea of the depth - Hope this helps!
keichman Posted August 12, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted August 12, 2012 Thanks SO much for the photos, Carolyn. Both my daughter and mother-in-law will be fine with those steps. You've set my mind at ease. I appreciate it!
Cruise Envy Posted August 12, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 12, 2012 I had a special needs teen on that trip, and the staff was FABULOUS with him. It really was the highlight of that trip. They have a photo/video package that you can buy -- I found it worth it. If you poked around a bit, there were more pictures of the encounter in that set at Flickr. Enjoy it -- the dolphins are a DELIGHT!
