Car Rental

Hi all ...we arrive at FLL and are thinking of hiring a car for a couple of days and dropping it off at MIA when we pick up our flight. Any advise on where to hire from in FLL would be appreciated.

Have done a quick search but most places are saying we have to go to FLL airport to pick up a car and would prefer somewhere near the cruise port if possible. If not then I suppose its not out of the question to just go to the airport and pick it up there.

I don't know the area at all, so any advise is welcome. Thank you.

FLL is a quick 10 minute $15 (for the cab, not per person) trip from the port - a few of the car rental places will shuttle you, but you may have to wait a while for the shuttle.

MIA is about a 40+ minute drive form the FLL area. Good luck! :)

Budget has an office on 17th street just outside of the port. They have a shuttle from the port to the rental office. We are picking up a car from that location after our cruise and dropping it at the Fort Lauderdale Airport with no additional one way charge. Not sure if the same would be true for MIA.

Here's their number 954-761-7231. Online the location code is Quay Center-07

It is typically the case with car rentals in Florida that you can pick up and drop off the car at a different location anywhere in the state without an additional charge, but of course it's good to confirm that at the time of booking.
