Everything Breakaway!(LIVE on 4/28)

Hi,

Can anyone post the (approximate) times that the Breakaway will

 

1) Come back up the Hudson River near downtown NY / Jersey City on Friday May 10; and

 

2) Depart down the Hudson on Saturday May 11 (for Bermuda)?

 

I really wanted to take some quality photos of it using my tripod / DSLR, but it's difficult to be at the right place at the right time!

 

I'll definitely post the results up if I'm successful at getting these photos.

FWIW, I'm 45 days out today, went to the site at 9:00 and successfully reserved a table for three for Cirque, no issues.

 

That's good..they must have fixed the gliches!

I'm with you on this one Tom.Hey since you mentioned a bar,maybe I can get one of those bar carts they have pool side on my balcony:D It seems like a waste of space if they do not furnish correctly.

 

I think our S6 balcony would be large enough to have them go ahead and set up a blackjack table out there as well... :D

 

I thought it would be fun to play BJ on the pool deck, but each time I went by those tables on the Epic, they were closed due to high winds (guess then don't want the dealers hole card to accidentally flip over)! Now that the Haven courtyard is covered, seems like the PERFECT place! :cool:

Hey, ya gotta do what ya gotta do! Either way at the end of the day I'll be the guy chilling on my big balcony with my lounger with a drink in my hand :cool: Sounds like the ultimate recipe for a good time to me!

We don't use the pool, don't use the hot tubs, and don't sun in a lounger on the open decks. We like to spend time on our balcony (in the shade) relaxing. A small chair is not "relaxing" for very long, and you can't take a nap in one comfortably.

 

Do I expect to have the use of a lounger when I have a large (100+ sq. ft.) balcony? Yes, it is expected. On those VERY rare occasions where they're not present (perhaps twice out of 70+ sailings - I think both were on Carnival), and efforts to have a couple brought to our cabin fail, I will take care of things myself. If that makes me an "ultimate chair hog" in the eyes of some, then so be it. I carry no guilt or regret in that regard. The fault lies with the cruise line for having insufficient balcony furnishings. Sure, sometimes I'd love to have a hammock out there, or a wet bar, or a ceiling fan (or someone fanning us with palm fronds)... but I digress... :D

Just got a call from NCL CAS. Because of a "computer glitch" I was moved from my MA mini-suite with the balconette, to a Deck 9 MB mini-suite with a balconette and a view of the roof of the waterfront.:mad:

I was told there was nothing she could do, but I was getting $100 OBC.

I can't believe 10 days away they realize that there is a problem.

Since CAS is who I went through to get the aft corner cabin we have, I would definitely NOT like to be the recipient of similar news... :eek:

 

I hope, at least, that they gave you a good deal to begin with on the cabin.

Thanks, you're sure it goes "back out" Friday night again? I thought it was on a 2-day inaugural cruise that left 5/8, and would return Fri 5/10, only to leave for Bermuda after that.

 

There's another 2-day cruise to nowhere that begins Fri too?

I don't spend time in the sun so I haven't studied the "chair hog" issue but I always assumed that the problem was one of space rather than a limited number of actual chairs.

 

I read a post on one of the TA threads where someone in an aft balcony said that loungers were delivered to their balcony near the end of the cruise (they didn't mention requesting them), so maybe NCL is just disorganized and loungers will start to magically appear on all large balconies.

 

I do plan to have loungers, one way or another; I'm slightly more concerned with where I'm going to get a dining table for my balcony ;)

Wow, and I thought losing my bathtub was bad. (I am also booked in an MA) I hope you use the $100 OBC in the casino and clean them out. Karma is on your side!

I know when I book through CAS it is a free cabin except for port charges and tax. I'm thinking that although they let me know what category cabin they will 'give' me that they can change that at any time since they're paying for it. Again, that's just what I think.

 

Did you have to pay for the cabin in addition to the port charges and tax or was this a comped room for you by CAS?

It was a comped balcony, with an inexpensive MA upgrade. I picked the MA room.

Good to know. We had no problem with Cirque for three (as it's not an exclusive table), but had only one time choice -7:30pm- for any of the specialty restaurants. wonder if they fixed that bug.c Did you make any reservations for those?

No,not positive .I thought I read there will be two 2 nighters 5/8 and 5/10.I could be wrong.I'll try to find out today.Just read roe2 ship says there is also.
