Using non-refundable OBC

I have always used my OBC for tips, but I have been hearing that NCL is starting to crack down on that. I have always used my non-refundable OBC for tips because we typically don't charge anything on the ship. So, I am thinking...can I put the $200 on the casino account, play a little, and then cash out so I can pay the tips in cash at guest services at the end of the cruise?

So, I guess what I am asking is if the casino cash and play is payable with the non-refundable OBC?

Are you talking about paying the Daily Service Charge or tips? If you are talking about tips for Butler, concierge, Kid's Club, extra for Room Steward - you can use the Non-refundable OBC for any of them. Just tell them at Guest Services how much you want to give them and they will give you a voucher that you can actually hand to the person you are tipping.

If you are talking about the DSC...if you are allowed to use any of the OBC for the casino, you will pay a 3% fee to do so. You would then be able to turn around and put the money towards the DSC at Guest Services.

I agree if you do not spend any money on board...use $150 of the OBC to purchase the Freestyle Cruise Reward so you end up with a total of $250 towards your next cruise totally funded by NCL and still have $50 to spend in the shops.

I was talking about the DSC. I have used the casino charges on my cabin cruise card before and have never been charged 3 %..I even asked the gal at the cage because I had heard that some ships were charging, she didn't charge me. I Just wasn't sure if it was payable with the non-refundable OBC. However, great tip on buying the cruise reward as I want to go on the Epic again anyway. I will use it up with that and a few cocktails! Thanks for the tip.

I'll let someone else answer the casino cash question, I just wanted to add another suggestion. I would use it to buy a future cruise credit.

Perfect...that is what I will do. That is probably safer then stepping into the casino...I have made enough "donations".
