Smoking on Freedom of the Seas

Recommended Posts

I would like to know if (the smokers) can tell me if smoking is allowed in any of the clubs/bars. I know there is a cigar bar, is cigarette smoking allowed in there.

Would like to know this from (smokers) that have traveled since the last smoking policy was implemented. Thank you

On the Freedom you can smoke in: The Crypt nightclub, the casino, the Cigar Bar, and outdoor deck areas on the starboard side of the ship and your balcony of course if you have one.

Thank you for the info.

Is there a Comedy club? Do they allow it in there? I find it very hard to believe that there are only a few indoor smoking area's. Can anyone please comfirm, or list other area's that are acceptable? I know you could duck out on deck 4 or 5? and if on the right side of the ship it was allowed?? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Where do they normally hold the comedy show? Do they allow smoking in that area? It seems like this ship has minimal smoking area's and if thats the case maybe I should consider another ship, and or line. I thought the way things where there wasn't an issue, but you would always have a non smoker dramatize having to walk thru a smoking area. Hello read the signs...... My personal favorite is im sitting at a card table for a couple of hours and a over dramatic person sits down and complains to the dealer about your smoke... I had not one smoke since they sat down.... People push there luck way to much. But on non smoking night I walk thru and have to joke about all the tables being SLOW!!! Yes very few players at all.:D

The comedy show is normally held in the main theater.

As a smoker, I have no problem with going outside to have a smoke. I really hate the smell of concentrated stale smoke in an enclosed area. So actually the whole side of a ship outside areas and on one's own balcony is enough for me.

I don't mind going out also but I also like getting up early for coffee and a smoke and watch a little sports news on tv. last cruise i was on Carnival had just started their ban on smoking in the sports bar. The bar was empty 90 % of the cruise.

I guess we non and ex smokers prefer not to gamble with our money or our health/life

And thats your choice, I am determined to quit smoking for my health however it is the hardest dang thing I have ever tried to kick. I commend ex smokers for getting thru the major stages, and staying smoke free.

Back to the smoke free nights on the ship I just don't know how the cruise line can afford to take such a hit with the entire casino being a ghost town. I would think that in time the cruise lines will have to revert back to normal operstions.

I don't mind going out for a smoke either if there are limited venue's that allow it, I'm just trying to find out where the outside area's are before our sailing so we can be sure we are not in the wrong place enjoying an after dinner cigarette.:D

The "cigar bar" on Freedom is the "Connoisseur Club" and only serves drinks a few hours at night. I never saw anyone else in there. It is a peaceful spot to duck in and smoke a cigar or cigarette without bothering anyone. I can't remember if there was a TV, but I think so ???

I'm sorry but I do believe I specifically said for only smokers to reply.

Being new to cc, I was surprised how quickly and often people jump at the opportunity to get on their soap boxes, especially when it comes to other people's pleasures

They usually sell cigars in the lounge. I have also seen them for sale in the same onboard liquor store. Not a great selection...I want to say some Macanudo's, Fuente's and maybe some Olivias? If you don't bring any onboard it is nice to be able to buy them. That being said, why not buy some in port where perhaps you might sample from an island 90 miles south of Miami?

Enjoy your cruise.

Single Cigars are available but limited. You can buy them in a couple of the bars (along with single cigarette packs), in the "liquor store" on the Promenade and in the Connoisseur Club when it is "manned."

All the ports have them, though.
