sail7seas Posted August 28, 2012 #26 Share Posted August 28, 2012 I have seen them in the case -- mostly on the Vista and Signature class ships. We've sailed 'em all and never saw them. I'll be looking when we sail Westerdam again....and Noordam and Eurodam. Those are our next cruises.
DizzyDallasDi Posted August 28, 2012 #27 Share Posted August 28, 2012 Not much different than your neighborhood Starbucks. Not so for my neighborhood Starbucks. I bought a venti (20 oz.) iced vanilla latte and a slice of pumpkin bread last Saturday and paid around $8.

hugger Posted August 30, 2012 #30 Share Posted August 30, 2012 Do 3 star Mariner's get any discount on the coffee's at the Exploration cafe? How do we go about getting any of our discounts for that matter on the wine packages or the Pinnacle Grille? Going on the Noordam in Dec. for my B-day ;)
Rebel54 Posted August 30, 2012 #31 Share Posted August 30, 2012 Awesome! Thanks for sharing that. Way cheaper than Starbucks. I'm glad I got my coffee card :).

hugger Posted August 31, 2012 #34 Share Posted August 31, 2012 Thank you for promptly replying to my question. So we just go ahead and charge these to our onboard account and then they know to give us a 25% discount off our bill. DO I understand this correctly? THANKS again

DO I understand this correctly? THANKS again Yes. You make your purchase, and hand the steward your cabin card so the sale can be rung up. The discount is applied based on the info from your card, and will appear on your sales slip. The discounted price will show up on your final bill. sail7seas Posted August 31, 2012 #36 Share Posted August 31, 2012 Each of our Mariner Star status actually is reflected on ID cards.
hugger Posted August 31, 2012 #37 Share Posted August 31, 2012 I guess I just never noticed it on our bill in the past. As we have used our room card for purchases. I'll have to watch for it now THANKS
sail7seas Posted August 31, 2012 #38 Share Posted August 31, 2012 We all HAVE to use the cabin card for purchases as the ships are cashless societies. The only way to make a purchase on HAL ship is by charging to our cabins.

The only way to make a purchase on HAL ship is by charging to our cabins. Well, you could use a beverage card to make the purchase but it would be pointless as you would not get the discount for either 3-4 star, just the discounted price (max 10%) of the beverage card itself. sail7seas Posted August 31, 2012 #40 Share Posted August 31, 2012 Unless you purchase the beverage card in advance, the purchase of the card would be charged to your cabin via your card.
