Ultimate Caribbean

I'm asking this on behalf of my parents who are thinking of booking the Equinox Ultimate Caribbean Cruise for March 2013.

My dad has Parkinsons and has good and bad days which means they cant always do whatever they originally plan to do in ports. Sometimes they dont get off the ship until lunchtime and just have a wander around the local area, rather than doing a trip. Sometimes they plan on doing a trip but dont always make it and so have to just wander around where they are docked.

They are thinking doing the following ports next year:

George Town (Grand Cayman), Cartagena (Columbia), Puerto Limon (Costa Rica), Colon (Panama), Belize City and Cozumel (Mexico).

Are these ports suitable for wandering around locally or do you need to book trips?

Also asked on the Celebrity forum!

Thanks

I can only answer for Cartagena. The port area is industrial. Nothing to wander around there. Maybe book a tour that takes you downtown and includes a carriage ride through the old town. I hope that somebody can chime in for a taxi to the old town and a carriage ride, then return to the ship.
