Hey Marla!!

Fabulous Pictures... I'm loving them... We're sailing on the Magic on Jan. 13th - 20th for my 50th birthday... So I'm loving seeing all the fabulous pictures of the ship. I've sailed on Carnival Conquest twice but not Magic so I'm really excited to be on her. Our stateroom is on the spa deck and I'm looking forward to spending sometime in there.

Sooooo...

I have a question about the spa package that you bought, ok a few questions...

What's the deal on them, what do you get, and all the other fabulous details?

Plus

What are those fabulous looking seats that you took pictures of at the spa... Kind of mosaic looking... They look fabulous.

The 2 times that we've sailed we've never adventured to the spa so I'm really curious about all the details.

Oh by the way, I love Grand Cayman, it's my favorite place. We usually hang out at Royal Palms, it's a restuarant burger and seafood kind of place. Plus a beach front where we just love to sit our butts on the beach all day long... you can see a couple of webcams of the place on www.royalpalmscayman.com lots of days I love looking at the webcams because you can see all the ships that are in port.

Thank you!!!

The spa package is $250 for a couple for the entire week. I think they sell daily pass, too but it's only a limited amount per day. The spa pass includes the two longer rooms, a Thalassotherapy pool (kinda like a fancy hot tub), two sanas, and a rainforest shower. Our favorite thing to do was lay on the heated chair longers. They are so comfortable and just perfect. I'm too big of a wimp for the sanas, but I really like the Thalassotherapy pool. The rainforest shower really was just a place to rense off.

I hope that helps! They will give you a tour the first day if you want to check it all out.

Great pictures, thanks for sharing.

I noticed your DH had a John Deere shirt on in one picture, is his watch John Deere, too? It looked green in the picture.

Yes, he has a John Deere watch, too. He's pretty devoted to the cause. He's even touring the factory next January. lol.

Funny enough, before we were married, he had a matching set of John Deere plates and bowls. :)

That evening, dinner was a complete breeze. We walked in and were seated immediately. We both ordered the fried shrimp which we loved. It was probably my favorite meal in the dining room.

After dinner, we headed to the early magic show- Destination Unknown starring Jason Byrne. The show was quite good and we decided we also wanted to see the late night adult show- A Kiss Goodnight. We made the mistake of going back to our room to drop off my camera. By the time we made it back to the Spotlight Longue, there was no seats- again. And we were forty-five minutes early. We stood and watched the show, but neither one of us really enjoyed it. It wasn't much of a magic show and mostly involved burlesque dancers. They were good, but it was very shot and way too crowded.

After the show, we headed off to bed.

The next morning, Thursday, we arrived in Jamica. I had read a lot of scary things here about the country and was a little nervous, but our day ended up being awesome.

This sign made me chuckle:

This is an awesome thread!!! You remind me so much of myself! I bring my Canon with me too and am obsessed with photos. You are so lucky to have a 5D!!

Also, my hubby had the John Deere plates and bowls before we got married too. And comforter! Oy!!

Three Amigos is my favorite movie and I cannot believe there is a place in Cozumel that is dedicated to it!! GAHHH! Now I have to go back!

Cannot wait to see the rest of the pics. They are gorgeous!

Once we were back on the ship, we headed back to the spa where we spent an hour relaxing. I then returned to the room to shower and dress while Colb headed to the casino. At this point, he had gambled enough for a free drink card while playing.

On Tuesday night, we waited about an thirty minutes for a table at dinner. I had the fried chicken and Colby had the ribs. We both enjoyed them. After dinner, we went to the Serenity Deck where we relaxed and swung in the hammock. It was wonderful and oh so relaxing.

That night, we wanted to see Cowboy Bill Martin in the adults only comedy. Well, we arrived thirty minutes early for the show and there were no seats left. We ended up standing in the corner. The show was funny enough, but by this point, we were both exhausted.

On Wednesday morning, we arrived in Grand Caymen. The tender process was pretty horrible. We were once again in the crammed Spotlight Theature (hate it) and people were stacked full. After an hour, we finally made it to land.

Tendering in did provide me with ample opportunity to photograph the ship:

We were on the same trip... its fun looking it the background to see if we are there.

That is funny! What a coincidence that you arrived in Galveston when the tractors arrived, too!

loving the review. As a budding photographer I am loving the pictures. I just got a Canon T3i and was wondering if you could give me some pointers as to what settings to use at night to get some shots like you did of the waterworks etc.... Thanks in advance!

We will be on the Magic on Nov. 25th...

We did the Anytime Dinning as we have before with no problems...

Did you ask for a table for two or willing to sit with other dinners as you do for breakfast??

I am a bit concerned on the wait times & may have to switch to the Early Dinning...

Thanks
