AgVball Posted October 16, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2012 I posted this over on the Disney board: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=35736987#post35736987 It's a review being written by a friend of mine, but I thought I would mention it here on the family board as well. Enjoy!
crusinmama06 Posted October 19, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2012 Wow! So she was traveling on birth certificates only and then didn't even have a real birth certificate? Do I dare ask if she booked through a travel agent?
AgVball Posted October 19, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted October 19, 2012 crusinmama06: I don't know the whole scoop to that - nor did I ask - since I'm sure its a sensitive topic. I think her mom did all the arrangements - so I'm not sure if she went through a TA or not. I'm always worried whether Birth Certs will work or not, so I made my mother (81 now) get a Passport. I didn't even think about different types of Birth Certs. I was so sad reading the start of the story.
crusinmama06 Posted October 19, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2012 Yes the image of the adults sobbing off the back of the ship as mom waved to them is heart wrenching :( And I can't imagine how confused the kids were watching grandma stuck there without them! cb at sea Posted October 19, 2012 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2012 Birth Certificates will work just fine....as long as they come from the State Board of Records or Certification...or whatever they call it in your state. The document the hospital gives you is NOT a birth certificate.....
AgVball Posted October 19, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted October 19, 2012 Yeah - documentation that might be legit for local stuff may not work for borders - especially for those who are elderly where they were born at home, records were burned, etc. On a lighter note - they had a great time overall though. We were deciding on "Disney" since we've done "non-disney" for so many years. I wasn't sure if its worth the extra cost now that we have a Disney down in Galveston (TX). We've not been to DisneyWorld just yet either - still trying to figure out our plan for what to do and when (girls are 4.5 right now). Her pics and stuff were helpful - and I'm sure its helpful for others to see how pre-schoolers like ships as well. Lots of stuff to do - even on non-disney. have a great weekend!
