First Time Cruiser - Oceania Athens to Venice Feedback on ?s

So excited for our first cruise Venice to Athens. Help?

- What is the best way to determine whether we buy Oceania excursions or do our own?

- Is the drinks package worth it? We're not into volume, but quality I think.

- If we get the upgrade offer to Penthouse, is it worth it?

- We booked the Reserve wine dinner in advance, anything else to consider?

- What is the best dinner time to book?

- What would you tell a brand new cruiser?

You did the right thing by going to the Oceania board where you can ask questions.

Once you have taken your first cruise, you will be hooked.

A lot of your questions depend totally on you. Nothing is "best" for every single person. Just decide what time you want to dine and do it.

 

As for the beverage package, again, it's just up to you. Some find it worthwhile and some don't. It's all dependent on how much you drink. If you don't think you'll drink $50 a day, then just pay as you go.

 

Don't worry, you probably won't be upgraded to a Penthouse. Upgrades are VERY RARE. And if you're offered a paid upgrade, again, that decision is totally up to you and your budget. Some would pay the upgrade and most probably wouldn't.
