jegk1 Posted October 18, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2012 Might there be anyone interested in joining us for private English speaking land tours for any of our ports?:)
Rare Keith1010 Posted October 18, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 18, 2012 You should find your roll call. That is the only area per cruise critic rules that one should look to share a tour. Keith
no fuss travel Posted October 21, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2012 Might there be anyone interested in joining us for private English speaking land tours for any of our ports?:) There is a somewhat active roll call for this cruise. Ask there and you may get some response. I have some tours booked for the cruise but will probably do a lot on my own.
tworetired Posted October 29, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 29, 2012 Would be very interested in sharing some excursions. Will be on the Marina as well.
Rare Keith1010 Posted October 29, 2012 #5 Share Posted October 29, 2012 It is against the CC rules to post about sharing tours on any forum except for your roll call. Keith
jegk1 Posted October 29, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted October 29, 2012 I have posted originally on our roll and cc has combined our cruise with the longer one which will also cover our specific Mariner cruise...for those of you who had questioned my posting. Feel free to contact us at jegk1 at comcast dot net to discuss any possibilities.
dielaughing Posted December 4, 2012 #7 Share Posted December 4, 2012 Might there be anyone interested in joining us for private English speaking land tours for any of our ports?:) We are doing Papeete all the way to Sydney. Would be interested. We have booked a full day tour in Apia with Polynesian Xplorer in case you are interested. Cost is around US$100. Details follow.. Cruise Ship Tour - South Coast Upolu & Namu'a Islands Apia Township Upolu Island This tour is especially designed for cruiseship passengers, wanting to experience the most of Samoa in one day. We head out from the Apia Township wharf and make our way over Cross Island Road to the South Coast of Upolu Island. Weather & rainfall permitting our first stop is the Togitogiga waterfall viewpoint. After this we make a stop at famous Samoan artist, Fatu Feu'u's residence to view the art and produce there. Then we head for the famous Tosua Ocean Trenches, where a walk in a tropical garden reveals these beautiful lavarock chasyms. We then arrive to the Namu'a Island wharf and enjoy a short ferry trip to the exclusive, uninhabited Namu'a Island where we are greeted by staff, and are treated to a traditional Samoan buffet lunch. We enjoy swimming and relaxation on the beach, before making our way back to Upolu Island. We view the Sopoaga waterfalls and enjoy a coconut demonstration here, before making our way back into Apia Township, enjoying a couple of excellent photostops. Tour Details Tour is inclusive of shipside pick up and drop off to Apia Harbour, all entry fees, return boat transfer (10min) to Namu'a Island, buffet lunch on island & spring water on tour. Lunch Details We pride ourselves on providing a traditional lunch experience for this tour! Food is cooked using traditional methods, and served in 'ma'ilo' plates, made of plaited coconut fronds. Lunch is a traditional Samoan buffet, with a range of local dishes cooked in a traditional fashion, in the Samoan Earth Oven. Consisting of Samoan free range chicken soup, fresh fish baked in coconut cream, marinated raw fish dish, taro (a yummy root vegetable) done in the earth oven, with a local specialty, palumsami (taro leaves and coconut cream baked in the umu), green salads, fresh tropical fruit platters and cold coconuts for drinking. NOTE: For groups of less than 8 people, a full buffet lunch may not be possible, however we will provide a good selection of the foods above for your lunch. For groups of 8 or more people, a buffet lunch is provided. For groups of more than 20, the buffet will include suckling pig, and other seafood delicacies. Walking Details This tour includes easy walking on mostly level surfaces. At the Togitogiga waterfalls, there is a 3 minute walk along a short track to the fall. Very little undulation here. At Toosu'a trenches, there is a large garden space to explore, and so walking can be done around the grounds if you so choose. There is very little walking involved in all other stops. Tour Vehicle For tours where fewer than 8 passengers are booked, these are taken in modern, airconditioned, 15 seater vans. For tours of more than 8 passengers, these are taken in airconditioned busses. Guide Information Guides provided are English speaking, experienced and very knowledgeble about Samoa. Italian, Chinese, German & Russian speaking guides can be arranged for specials groups. Please contact info@polynesianxplorer.com for more information Tour timing All cruiseship tours are timed with the arrival and departure time of the ship. Full day tours normally start 1 hour after the ship docks, and end shipside promptly 1 full hour before it's departure.
Free Spirit 2 Posted December 31, 2012 #8 Share Posted December 31, 2012 Hi, I am still pretty new to cruising having only done one before this. It was on the Marina. I think that we would both be interested in joining up for some activities on land. How do I go to the roll call I have just read about? Free Spirit 2 Posted January 1, 2013 #10 Share Posted January 1, 2013 Thank you psyfi. I think one needs an English GCSE to navigate and use CC!
