5Stringer Posted October 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2012 I was wondering if there is such thing as an cruise (7 days or so) coupled with a week at an all-inclusive resort, preferably within the Caribbean? Has anyone done such a thing? We have some friends that love AI, but want to try a cruise, so we thought maybe a combo of the two would be a good idea. Rare Keith1010 Posted October 20, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2012 Try a travel agent. To get a R/T cruise that starts and ends in the Caribbean you are looking at someplace such as Puerto Rico. Keith

One of my siblings and I love cruising the Caribbean at Christmas with our families when it is the dead of winter here in Edmonton. On the other hand, our third sibling's children had horrible bouts of seasickness when they cruised with us two years ago. It would be ideal to do a one week cruise and then have them join us for a one week all-inclusive. I hope you get some feedback from all those who might have done this in the past as I would really consider this for the future.
Rare Essiesmom Posted October 21, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 21, 2012 There are cruise lines that do this out of Barbados in the winter. P&O & Thomson come to mind...You might ask on those boards. EM
Krazy Kruizers Posted October 21, 2012 #5 Share Posted October 21, 2012 Years ago when Cunard had a couple of small ships -- Cunard Countess and Cunard Princess, they had such cruises. You cruised for 3 or 4 days, then stayed on one the islands for a week, then the ship picked you up and you cruised for 3 or 4 days. These were round trip out of San Juan. I can't remember the 2 islands that you had a choice of.
5Stringer Posted October 21, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted October 21, 2012 Thanks for your input. A quick search found Carnival sailing out of Barbados, as well as quite a few going out of Puerto Rico. Thanks all for your replies.
