FTTF- don't get upset that I ask

FTTF is an insult to those who invested their time and money to stay loyal to Carnival. CCL has put a price on that loyalty, it's worth $50.

I am Platinum on Carnival and I earned it the old fashioned way by taking cruises. The purpose of going on the cruises was the enjoyment of some carefree travel with my family and friends (we're a good sized group, 10-20). I have no problem with the FTTF service being offered for a fee. Now we can all board together and our cabins will be ready, a few in our group don't have ten cruises under their belts (like my elderly mother). I don't feel in any way insulted. This is not a big deal in my mind. It's just another way for the cruiseline to generate revenue. It is, after all, a business.

I decided to purchase it for my Destiny cruise January 26, but after reading some of these responses I'm feeling guilty. I'm not the type to ditch in line but I wanted it for the port in the Cayman Islands. This is only my second cruise and will book another for July when I go in January. I really don't want the to upset the Kings and Queens (that's how I view those who have many cruises under their belts and have always been happy to answer questions for me), so I'm hoping that they won't take their frustration out on me.

I hope you enjoy every minute of your cruise. Don't worry about what the grinches think. FTTF has it's advantages and I don't think it matters one bit whether you receive it because you've taken so many cruises or you pay for it outright. If I weren't already Platinum, I would certainly pay for it. When I first heard about FTTF I didn't think it was worth $50 each, but for the entire cabin, it's well worth it as I sometime have four in a cabin. I say let the party begin!

Remains to be seen. We've yet to sail on a ship where/when FTTF is offered.

I for one, hope I am not on any ship you are on. I just purchased F2F and have never sailed any other cruise line. I am loyal to carnival and want F2F so I can stow my bags early and get priority tendering.

Got it for our cruise on Dream next summer. Being able to go straight to our cabin and have our luggage there was the biggest draw for us. Not sure if it's really worth the cost, but decided to try it.

As I mentioned before, to me it's similar to having a credit card that gives perks to use when flying, without having to accumulate the miles first.

Sorry to disagree, but we certainly did on the Imagination. We FTTF people were escorted to the right side of the line immediately upon showing our SnS cards with the FTTF designation. We never waited in line for ATD.

John Heald was notified of this action shortly after it occurred. He posted on Facebook that this is not a perk that is given thru FTTF. He said all ships would be notified to not offer this service.

Will they still require us to be out of our cabin by 8:30am if we purchased FTTF? I know they want everyone off as soon as practical, but we wouldn't mind taking our time getting off the ship if we had a little extra time. Does late debarkation mean you still have to be out of your cabin at the same time but can hang out in public spaces longer? This would be on Dream, btw.

We got it so we can get on board and get straight our room without having to trek all over with our carryons (which consist of 2 cpaps we can't check, drinks, our computer and (possibly) a walker. We're on deck 2 so going all the way up just to come back down later while lugging everything about is worth avoiding for us.

As far as people being upset about about paying for something they get for free, they are the same people who would get upset that someone bought a sandwich when they purchased 12 for a free one. It affects them not at all, but it's a reason to complain and feel superior (and complain about Carnival in the process). FTTF guests board after platinum/diamond, and none of the other benefits remove them from theirs. I say purchase it if you think it would be a benefit and don't worry about anyone whining about it.

Just purchased this for our upcoming Destiny Thanksgiving cruise. Normally I wouldn't care about stuff like this, but last time we went out of Miami it was a nightmare. I'm hoping to avoid waiting in line for over 3 hours (after security, that is). It will also be really nice to have the room ready and be able to drop off luggage. We're only doing carryons, so no express luggage for us!

Anytime dining is waitlisted, so I'm hoping we can move to the top of that.. if not, we'll be fine with 6 p.m.

I personally like having my cabin ready when I board. To me that's worth the price. My next cruise I will be travelling with two people who are legally blind, I want to ensure they are comfortable and relaxed.

Thank you! I just don't want my vacation to start off on the wrong foot. Haha. I will enjoy every minute...especially since my bff has never cruised before. Maybe she will find herself a nice single man on board!!

Yes, I am another one who purchased FTTF for my cruise in Dec. Would of been platuim until carnival changed their program. Have cruised 7 times, All with carnival. My DH only gets 1 week off a year, works ALL holidays, so when we go on a vacation I will do and pay for anything extra to make our vacation really count.

I've only been on 3 Carnival cruises, but I agree. A bit of a slap in the face to those who have remained loyal.

Well as one that is nearing 70 I feel the FTTF is great so I can access my room quicker and not lug all the carryons around till 1:30 or 2. I also like the "Fake it till you Make it" idea. I feel it's moneys well spent. Here is hoping that it's available on the Triumph (Dec) and the Magic (Mar).:)

Jez I am soo tired of all the fttp posts = must be 100 of them

Everyone is expressing their opinions because the question was posed for us to answer. I'm sure there is a way for you to disconnect from it if you choose to do so.

I don't agree. FTTF does not receive all of the benefits as platinum and diamond customers.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand why some are getting so upset about it. If you earned platinum and/or diamond status by taking lots of fun and enjoyable cruises, and you are now able to enjoy certain perks at no additional cost, what is there to complain about? You've been on more Carnival cruises and have had more fun than the FTTF folks. Be happy and enjoy your vacations. :D

I was thinking the same thing. Just move on.

This is to be expected when a new program such as this rolls out.

I agree! I never understand why people open up a thread they have no interest in, just to complain and put their 2 cents on how they are "bored" with this topic or whatever.

Then DON"T OPEN the thread and bypass it!!
