scgamecock Posted November 6, 2012 #26 Share Posted November 6, 2012 I've been on Valor twice for 2 wonderful cruises and looking to book a third. Not my favorite ship, but certainly not the worst.
Bunkie103 Posted November 6, 2012 #27 Share Posted November 6, 2012 I was on 10-13, and it was perfect!! Our wait staff was probably the most efficient we ever had, and I can't think of one thing to complain about. We even saw Elvis!!! (he sucked) We were on that trip also and the only thing we were disappointed with was Elvis. Our DR staff was the best ever, the Steakhouse was fantastic, everything was just great. darth frosty Posted November 6, 2012 #28 Share Posted November 6, 2012 Valor had a large...large...single's group over Halloween. Some of them were NOT happy with the food (I read their comments), slow dining room service with such a large group there were bound to be some crowds, venues closed, or friction JMO I think the OP was with the singles group here is a post from the roll call: Hi All All booked for Halloween. I am also with the SC group. Now I need to come up with a costume.
DnR Posted November 6, 2012 #29 Share Posted November 6, 2012 We just booked the Valor for Spring Break out of San Juan - looking forward to it. We have never been on the Valor.
Koval Posted November 6, 2012 #30 Share Posted November 6, 2012 I just got of the Valor. This was my fifth Carnival cruise. While I will cruise with Carnival again I will avoid Valor. After reading some other posts, maybe it wasn't the ship after all but other factors on board If that is the case why blame the ship? Still waiting to find out what about the ship was so awful? JinxyB Posted November 6, 2012 #31 Share Posted November 6, 2012 I was supposed to go on the Halloween Valor sailing with the singles group but had to cancel...I've seen some comments posted by people on the group FB page after the cruise. It seems there were issues with security treating people poorly, stereotyping the group, and having problems with guest relations. I also think they had bad service in the MDR and Steakhouse. Someone from the group posted their experience over on John Heald's FB page so you can read about it there.
SeaScout Posted November 6, 2012 #32 Share Posted November 6, 2012 I was on the Valor for the 10/27 sailing. We were not part of the large singles group and I can honestly say we had a great cruise. Didn't encounter any problems because of the singles group. I'm not sure what peoples complaints are but we didn't have any. The pizza could have been better but other than that, no issues that I saw.

Our DR staff was the best ever, the Steakhouse was fantastic, everything was just great. And remember, "Elvis" was not affiliated with the ship in any way shape or form. That group should not have been permitted to hijack the casino bar in that fashion.

turbot72lou Posted November 6, 2012 #42 Share Posted November 6, 2012 I was on the valor 10/27/2012 sailing and the security team treated our singles group of 620 people like criminals and followed us around all the time. While i will cruise carnival again, I will never cruise the valor ever!
mondello Posted November 6, 2012 #43 Share Posted November 6, 2012 That group should not have been permitted to hijack the casino bar in that fashion. There were over 600 in the group, sounds like they could over-run any venue by sheer numbers. Julienatul Posted November 6, 2012 #45 Share Posted November 6, 2012 That seems really odd. If there are over 600 of you how did the security team follow you since there are not 600 security officers onboard. I highly doubt you traveled in heards all over the ship. Did they say anything to you? Remove you from certain areas? Were other passengers complaining about your group, perhaps too loud or acting obnoxious or something? Please expand on your comments so we understand what you are talking about.

turbot72lou Posted November 6, 2012 #49 Share Posted November 6, 2012 sorry for the delay in answering back. I am at work. They shut down our cabin crawl which was on monday, because they said they got noise complaints and it was also a safety issue. The cabin crawl was at 6pm at night during the early dinner seating not to disturb people who sleep after that. is where you go arround to certain cabins to sample wine or chocolates and also to get to know people. This cabin crawl was Pre-approved by carnival and the ship WEEKS in advance. They were just in a adversarial mood the moment we got on the ship. By far this is the worst ship in the fleet. Check out a post by roger sipple on john healds facebook pag and that will explain it better
nitro2448 Posted November 6, 2012 #50 Share Posted November 6, 2012 Far from the worst ship, probably one the best ships. So far the only complaints have really came from one group. If that group really did have that bad of an experience, sorry for your luck. But this has been by far the best ship I have been on.
