OKCruiseMan Posted November 12, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2012 Its been a while since I've seen two cruise ships at Mallory Square at the same time....

RuthlessBoss Posted November 12, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 12, 2012 Not sure if they are both at Mallory. Carnival is usually at Ohm? dock, but when you look at angles, it looked like the same dock. (Was there this past week) Not saying they aren't though. OKCruiseMan Posted November 12, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted November 12, 2012 You are probably right. The schedule shows Carnival at Pier B, which I tend to consider part of Mallory Square, but they do list them as two places... http://www.keywestcity.com/egov/apps/services/index.egov?path=details&action=i&id=86 However, they are lined up.... RuthlessBoss Posted November 12, 2012 #5 Share Posted November 12, 2012 I suspect Mallory Square is just that. The performers come out there at sunset, along with the sunset view. I wonder if pier B is in front of the Westin hotel. Last week some of those privately owned yachts were parked between the ship and the Westin walkway. The other, Outer Mole (I keep forgetting the name) was closer to the other pier than I thought because we needed to be trammed into town. I was surprised we took such a long ride, when the 2 ships looked so close once we were in town. P.S. now I'm confused about the piers. Pier B and Outer mole are indeed separate, but if they are at pier B, who else is there?
RuthlessBoss Posted November 12, 2012 #6 Share Posted November 12, 2012 Okay, I think you are sort of right. The schedule has AidaAura at M. Freedom at B. nothing for OM. I've not seen this ship arrangement either. One ship leaves at 4, so that will open the Mallory sunset view.
DanJ Posted November 12, 2012 #7 Share Posted November 12, 2012 Maybe my memory is playing tricks, but I'm sure when we were there in 2001, there were 3 ships all in a row. Granted, the ships were smaller (us on the Tropicale, the Vision of the Seas was immediately behind us, and a Costa ship was right behind it). DanJ Posted November 12, 2012 #8 Share Posted November 12, 2012 OK, never mind LOL. I looked at the link above, and the 3 ships makes sense. I just never paid much attention to what the other piers were and thought the outermole was farther away than it actually is.
RWolver672 Posted November 13, 2012 #9 Share Posted November 13, 2012 They're all gone now. You can see one in the distance.
OKCruiseMan Posted November 13, 2012 Author #10 Share Posted November 13, 2012 You can see the Imagination today down at the OM. You can see how far it is from Pier B. The Magic should be here soon.
RuthlessBoss Posted November 13, 2012 #11 Share Posted November 13, 2012 Saw it come in, but other than Carnival, wasn't sure what ship. OM isn't that far,,,as the crow flies, but quite a tour coming in on the trolly.
OKCruiseMan Posted November 13, 2012 Author #12 Share Posted November 13, 2012 I see on the schedule that "The World" is going to be at Mallory the 18th-19th. That's the cruise ship people live on (rich people, that is). That would be interesting to see...

That's the cruise ship people live on (rich people, that is). That would be interesting to see... She's one of the rarest finds in the cruise industry, too, since The World really DOES travel all around the world. They just completed their sailing from the Pacific to the Atlantic....but through the Northwest Passage, not the Panama Canal. (!) As for "rich people"....yeah. Just the monthly maintenance on the smaller studio apartments on board will cost ya $20,000. (But if I win the lottery.....and not some penny-ante jackpot, either...... :D )

DanJ Posted November 14, 2012 #15 Share Posted November 14, 2012 That would be interesting to see. Is that the ship the tenants get to vote on their own itinerary? It's actually not that impressive of a ship to look at, although I'm sure it's quite nice inside.

There was an ugly looking ship on the webcam (I think FLL), that was of the ritzy expensive variety:D

MrFunInTheSun Posted November 18, 2012 #21 Share Posted November 18, 2012 I was at Mallory Square on November 12 on the Freedom. An Aida ship was there with us. Also saw the world in Nassau on November 9th When I was on the Sensation.
