luv2trvlnow Posted November 17, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 17, 2012 what would you say are the perks to the Spa deck? Which ship? No smoking zone :) It is only non smoking on the ships with the Cloud 9 Spa. The extra benefits of being on the Spa deck are only on those ships. That would be the Dream, Magic, Breeze, and Sunshine. On the other ships there are no extra benefits of being on the Spa deck. Sharon

(I don't feel like looking it up...lol) Yes Splendor does. When we booked the Spa deck on Splendor it offered both non smoking area and use of the huge hot tub in the spa itself as part of the "perk" We enjoyed it so much that if we found an itinerary we liked we would book the spa deck again. Can't speak to the other ships with the spa deck but the room info will list the perks.

jdvmd Posted November 17, 2012 #9 Share Posted November 17, 2012 We were on the Liberty last month in cabins on the Spa deck. Great location. Upon booking, it was in big red letters that there was not to be any smoking in the cabins or balconies. None of us smoke.
GottaLuvCruising Posted November 17, 2012 #10 Share Posted November 17, 2012 We booked the Spa category specifically so our balcony would be smoke-free. We made the booking before Princess rolled out entirely smoke-free balconies otherwise we would be on a Princess ship. We paid several hundred extra for this and other balconies have done down in fare, but ours has gone up so now it's like $500 more. Yikes! I've already booked most of my spa appointments so the priority isn't of any value. We will love the t-pool and the loungers / view - for that amount of $, we happy well better enjoy them a lot! Sh1035 Posted November 19, 2012 #18 Share Posted November 19, 2012 (edited) Did it on the dream and agree the female side liked it. But for me the last thing I want after being in the hot sun all day is to sit in a hot tub, then a few other rooms to get you finely baked. Then as an added bonus you can jump in a real cool cold only shower. Hey I can do that in my own back yard! Was just one of those things I did once for the experience. If you start to recognize the annoying relaxing music run....but like I said the lady's seem to like it but they like anything that says spa???? Guys don't even get suckered into wearing the robe. Did it once and none of the other guys showed up in one I felt like a major tool..t shirt and a bathing suit! Ok almost out of therapy from the experience.........I've stopped singing show tunes now and should be ok? bobsfamily Posted November 19, 2012 #19 Share Posted November 19, 2012 (edited) If booking a cabin specifically for the non-smoking aspect please make sure that YOUR cabin and surrounding ones are truly non.... On the Dream there are cabins on the Panorama and Spa deck that are NOT Spa cabins and smoking is allowed on the balcony. We had a "regular" cabin on Panorama and it came with an ashtray. This is from Carnival website: * All Spa Suites and Staterooms, inclusive of the balconies, are an entirely smoke-free environment. Spa suites and staterooms are on the following ships only: Carnival Splendor, Carnival Dream, Carnival Breeze and Carnival Sunshine. If you notice it says "spa suites and staterooms", it does NOT say Spa deck. So again if your Spa Cabin is next door to a "regular" cabin on the Spa deck it could have a smoker on the balcony... just saying. I have not checked to see if "regular" cabins are available on the Spa deck but here is one other comment about the Spa deck balconies, specifically on the Dream, they have no cover on them and anyone up on the Serenity deck can see right into the balcony. All the cabins on Spa deck are Cloud 9 cabins. So they are non-smoking. On Panorama Deck there are cabins that aren't Cloud 9 Cabins. The cabins further forward are part of the Cloud 9 Spa Cabins. The cabins further back aren't. So if you are in the last of the Cloud 9 cabins you could be close to a balcony where the passengers could smoke. Hopefully while the ship is moving their smoke would be going further aft. The cabins are not mixed together. Sharon

luv2trvlnow Posted November 21, 2012 #23 Share Posted November 21, 2012 Good to know... is that all ships? No. It's is only non-smoking on the ships with a Cloud 9 Spa. That would be Dream, Magic, Splendor, Breeze, and Sunshine. We had a balcony on the Spa deck on the Conquest, but it doesn't have a Cloud 9 Spa so those cabins allowed smoking on the balcony. Laurin612 Posted January 1, 2013 #24 Share Posted January 1, 2013 (edited) We were in a Cloud 9 Spa room on the Magic last March during Spring break. It was really great! My husband is not usually a spa type of guy, but even he enjoyed the Thalassotherapy pool, aroma steam bath, heated loungers and the rainforest shower in particular. The upgraded Elemis shampoo, conditioner and body wash is kind of a silly "benefit" to the spa level rooms. The bottles are very small and the room steward only replaces them once. I was not impressed with the products at all. Another difference in spa level rooms is that the decor is a bit different and the beach towels are beige instead of blue. We didn't take advantage of the priority booking for spa services. That said, we would totally book a Cloud 9 spa room again in the future for the relaxation spa area and the fact that the rooms were not smoking.
