Shop till you sail sale??

Is it on every sail date? I have tried numerous cruises but the obc doesnt show up on any moc bookings. I cant seem to locate any info. I did see it varies from ship and sailings.

Typically, a sale only applies to certain sailing dates, and sometimes, only certain ships as well. Is there any "fine print" that indicates any restrictions? You may have to call Carnival for more detailed information.

The OBC doesn't show up right away, it is usually on the last page of the booking before you put in CC info.

Look closely though, the Sale rates are usually quite a bit higher than ES or PG rates, so even with the OBC, you may end up paying more overall.

I just compared the same cruise, and found the Sale rate was $100 more (after taking into consideration the OBC) than the ES, and $50 or so higher than the PG rate.

Do your cruise search via the "Shop 'till You Sail" link under the sale logo on the Home page. It looks that the sale is limited to the Sailings/CabinCategories indicated in red on the search results pages. ken

In my case, the "Past Guest Shop til you Sail" rate was worse than the NON-past-guest "Shop til you Sail" rate once the OBC was taken into consideration! Makes no sense at all.

What you usually get with the Past Guest is several (if not many) cabin category upgrades (inside to inside, oceanview to oceanview....). Often you get a higher category for the same or about the same fare. ken

Be sure to compare to regular prices. I went through a dummy booking last night for the cruise we want to do next year and the Shop til you Sail price was higher by a couple hundred dollars then the Early Saver, without the guaranteed low price. For us, the Early Saver is still the better price.

Right... but the Fareviewer is not working for me today, and the mock booking doesn't break it down as specifically.

Doing a mock booking, you might for example select Inside | Past guest with Upgrades | Interior | FWD, MID or AFT -- and the subsequent display might show Riviera, Main, Upper decks "included in price" -- so you would see the upgrade locations included in the Past Guest with Upgrades.

The not-working FareViewer show same thing but (easier) in terms of Cabin Categories 4A, 4B, 4C, etc.

My only point was that the sale rate might not be cheaper for your cabin, but you might well move up several/many decks for about the same fare.

We're looking at the Glory for 12-8-13.

It is eligible for the Shop til you Sail Sale. The price for a balcony with the Shop til you Sail Sale is $499 pp. For the 4 of us, total cost $2384 with $100 OBC and a $500 deposit.

The price for the same cabin under Early Saver is $419 pp. For the 4 of us, total cost $2060, no OBC and $1000 deposit. Basically you pay more for the total cost of the cruise in order to get a lower deposit amount. Not much of a "sale" IMO.

Thanks Ken. We are in a 4K (interior with French Doors) which is the highest Interior, so I'm not sure if an upgrade is even possible (I am not clear on whether you can upgrade from Interior to Ocean View). Also we have two rooms very close to one another so upgrade/room change might not work for us. They don't make it easy, do they: :)
