setsail Posted December 18, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 18, 2012 Other than some gifts handed out by RCI and a CC host our M&M was handed over to the art auctioneer who turned the venue into an art auction sales pitch. No ships officer present for the largest turnout I have ever been to. Around 200 This could be a one time event, do not know, but it left a sour taste for future m&m events. Yes, we had a choice to be there and wanted to be there, but we will exercise the choice in a different way in the future if this is the path M&M's will follow. chaswelf Posted December 18, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 18, 2012 what sailing was this on, seems like the CD didn't do their job too well.
Langley Cruisers Posted December 18, 2012 #3 Share Posted December 18, 2012 ...our M&M was handed over to the art auctioneer who turned the venue into an art auction sales pitch... No! How awful. So sorry to hear it. I was disappointed when one of ours was turned into a pitch for the new "Genesis class" coming out in a few years. That was the last M&M we ever went to.:( In future, you could certainly plan your own and post the details in your Roll Call.
setsail Posted December 18, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted December 18, 2012 Indy on the 8th. The cd was not there, I think it was one of his staff.
MrCruzeaddict Posted December 18, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 18, 2012 We were on the Oasis back in mid Sept. Had around 100 at the M&M. There were no officers present, just a member of the CD staff. Party went off without a hitch and no sales pitches for anything. Joe<----Just countin' down the days! :D
denamo Posted December 18, 2012 #6 Share Posted December 18, 2012 Seems like there is no standard format for the M&M exists. The ones we've been to have run the gambit of the Captain, CD, or CD staff member there with sales pitches for future cruises to no sales pitch. We have, however, never had an art auction sales pitch. Sorry you had to endure this. Sounds like this is an event on board that has kind of gone by the wayside, and they are trying to drum up business. Your M&M sounds awesome with such great attendance. The AA is a dying venue and I think since we had such a large M&M that someone decided to let the auctioneer have a go at us.
