Here's one for Froufie, best cruise review ever!!!

(and in her favourite colour!):p

Hi Froufie!

I 6th, 7th or 8th the above! As usual I am a day or two late responding to the postings!:o But I mean it when I say that your review was the bestest ever! And the awards were the cherry on top of this wonderful fantastic review! I am so glad I met everyone and agree with Elle that this has been the best cruise with CC ever and I will add that this has been the best cruise I have been on!

I wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

And remember that Froufie is on the Sunshine TA....which means another fantastic review from her in the future!!

Hi John! It's so nice to see you post! Please send very warm regards to Linda!

Hi Ruth! It was nice to relive the TA through Froufie's eyes. I had no idea she was so talented! Only bad picture of the bunch was of me ordering lunch. lol

I assume you are back in Isreal and I hope you and your family are doing well. Warnest regards, John & Linda

Hey Foufrie what a review! It took me three times to read the entire review and check out every picture. Getting back to the real world makes it seem like a lot more than five plus weeks ago that we got off.

It was great meeting everyone and seeing maryann and chazz again. This was our 7th TA and was everything i hoped for. We won't be on the Sunshine because we will most likely be on NCL out of Rome going to the Holy Land. Maybe we can see Ruth the day we are in Jerusalem.

Not a fan of Guys Burgers, but loved the taco bar and mongolian wok. Only ate 6 times in the dining room not impressed by the food and hated the service. Ate in the steakhouse three times, once in la cucina, twice in the red frog pub and skipped dinner three times. loved the casino and overall the staff was great.

Thanks for your efforts Foufrie and to all the other organizers you recognized. I certainly hope we meet up again.

Froufie......

Excellent review.....summary of the TA. Can't believe in the 2 weeks, I never ran into you.....guess I'll need to do much better on the Sunshine TA....booked with some friends I went on Breeze with and some we met on the Breeze. And your pictures, phenomenal...I just wish many of mine with a digital SLR and specialized lenses would do as well.....yes, I do have some great shots....but many more so so...

And you're right....I had qualms about so many sea days but I'm hooked now.

Dave

Glad to see you are now hooked - like the rest of us! Glad you like the review :)

Thoroughly enjoyed reading your review and seeing all the pictures!!! We're on the Breeze for an 8 night in May and can't wait. Thanks for sharing your vacation! :)

You are most welcome - - I am certain you will LOVE the Breeze - hope you have a fabulous cruise! :)

Awesome review!! Totally enjoyed hearing about all your adventures.

We did a TA a few years back, but Miami to Barcelona and it still ranks as one of my favourite cruises ever. Must do another one soon:D

I can now 'understand' the addiction - and I am looking forward to my next TA!

Thanks for the most awesome review! Less than a month until I see the Breeze for myself. Question- any trouble bringing on a bottle of wine from a port? The allowed 2 bottles at embarkation is just not enough!

What an adventure - I can’t even begin to describe how much fun I had and how many good friends I made. The Breeze is gorgeous and I would cruise her again in a heartbeat - but now I can hardly imagine going on a 7 day cruise - and to the Caribbean......I WANT MORE!! (yes I am a selfish froufie). But I do count my blessings and several times during the cruise I looked out over the wide expanse of ocean realizing just how very lucky I was to be able to have such an amazing opportunity as this cruise - that I had the resources and support and time to be able to do this - I am, as always, very thankful!

I am now officially a ‘transatlantic junkie’ and would definitely recommend this to others.....there is such a feeling of comfort and ‘belonging’ when you know you will be onboard and well taken care of for 15 days - I was spoiled and loved it.

And now for a new feature - I decided to add some Froufie Cruise Critic Roll Call Awards at the end of the review to acknowledge some of my special friends so here goes:

Froufie Hero Awards go to

r180_151335.jpg

Doug - my Alhambra Saviour and all around good ‘bodyguard’ friend and Paul - who wouldn’t leave my side on the ardous climb out of the Bandama Crater.

Best Companion and Drink Sharer -

r180_151335.jpg

Special thanks to Sue for hanging out with me and sharing lots of food, fun and fables :)

Most Surprising roll caller awards go to the ‘quiet’ ones - those who didn’t post much but that I did spend lots of enjoyable time with:

r180_151335.jpg

Carolyn - my favorite piano bar companion (and martini connoisseur)

and Anne - who has great style (love the wine in the giant red solo cup) and with whom I shared some super fun times both on the bus to and from the Alhambra (getting ‘lost’ together) and on the ship as well.

Most Distant New Friend -

r180_151335.jpg

This award goes to my friend Ruth from Israel - who despite the stressful circumstances, did a great job of sharing her company with others when she could!

Best Accent

r180_151335.jpg

Yes I am a sucker for British accents and I love listening to them so this award goes to fellow Canadian Maryann - whenever she spoke it was beautiful to listen to! (and on top of that she is a pretty fun person too and a great addition to our teatime gang).

Honorable Mention goes to Sue from RAWCHESTER, New Yawk - loved hearing her say that all the time!

As well it was a pleasure sharing times with you!! Oh by the way,the stalker thanked me too(lol). What can I say about my accent but AY!

Glad you enjoyed it. No trouble at all bringing a few bottles of wine on at the european ports - no one seemed to care at all! Not sure if this is the same in the Caribbean tho!!!

Great review!

Thanks a bunch! :)

Hey Froufie, the usual A+ review from you. I always love them. I have sailed with Carolyn from San Diego on a Spirit Thanksgiving cruise, in fact, she came to my house for a Super Bowl party that year. I will have to stalk her on these boards and pull her back into the Spirit Dawg pound. She has a great daughter.

Chris and I don't cruise as much anymore now that we have our home in Cabo, but the one cruise we would definitely do again is a TA. We did one on RCCL a few years ago with a group of a dozen friends and absolutely loved it. The funny thing in reading your review is that we had the opposite problem, we couldn't get out of bed before noon. We left from Ft Lauderdale and advanced our clocks forward every day for 7 straight days. The Captain's noon report often woke us up. Our whole group had signed up for the Anytime dining and we were sure glad we did. People that signed up for early dining eventually stopped going because their time clocks were so messed up.

Once we sort out some things, like selling our house in San Diego, and figuring out this two home lifestyle, I'm sure we'll run into you because we too are TA junkies!:D

Hey Wendy! How are you guys doing? Thanks so much for our lovely comments!

Glad you are enjoying your Cabo 'vacation home'! :D:D Carolyn was lots of fun - don't steal her LOL.

Of course you know you are always welcome to hop aboard the Sunshine for the November TA - that would be such fun! :);)

  • 2 weeks later...

Your pictures are excellent! It really makes me want to go someday!

Angela

I am up at 8:30 am for breakfast on the Lido - we are parked next to the QM2 (the closest I will most likely ever get? :() and I am able to capture a rainbow with my camera.

I was the one who organized this tour thru Trip Gran Canaria and had been in contact with Bruno over the past few months. I would highly recommend them if you are lookingn for something to do in GC: http://tripgrancanaria.com/index_en.php

I had a group of 12 from the roll call who would be joining me in the Bandama Volcano Crater hike and wine tasting on Gran Canaria.

The bus and Bruno were waiting outside the exit and we were on our way. Of course it was again a semi-rainy day drizzling on and off but certainly not as bad as our Malaga visit. Off to the Golf course we went for our first stop - then we were separated - those of us climbing in and out of the crater (8 brave souls) and the rest who chose to visit the town and the Botanical Gardens.

We met up with tourguide Pepe who had a wealth of information about the crater and volcano and his dog Leta (very well mannered and a wonderful guide as well).

Froufie:

After reading your review it makes me want to get back on the Breeze again. I didn't think you were going to make it back up to the top of the of that volcano, but I didn't think I was getting back up the top either. We had way too much fun.
