Carnival Lanyards

I have seen in several reviews where people are getting carnival lanyards and getting their cards punched. I know you can get your card punched at guest services, but where are people getting these lanyards? Are they free? Anyone know the price on them?

There are coil type cords in the Casino that some people use as Lanyards.

My husband doesn't put a dime in a slot machine, but has been using these cords to hold is card for years!!

Where do you get them at the bar in the casino?

As others have said the casino will have them and will gladly punch your card for you.

In addition, if there is an area on the ship where they are pushing the Carnival credit card, the wine package or some other program, they will have them as well.

You are most welcome.

Not to hijack the thread, but hope you enjoy the Liberty as much as DW and I. Have sailed her twice, and she is our favorite CCL ship.

I hope we do too! I picked it because of the 2.0 upgrades but I've heard nothing but good things about the Liberty! Getting pretty antsy to go!

I bought my kids each a lanyard from KMart and stuck them in there Christmas stocking. They had some cute ones there. Then at Walmart I found for a $1 each a cheaper lanyard but it comes with the plastic pouch to hold the S&S cards- which is mainly what I was looking for. (the plastic part). fyi-they were in the men's dept by wallets.:o

We just got back from a cruise on the Fascination. The casino people would not punch our cards for the kids nor give us a lanyard. They said it was only for the people gambling. We bought the retractable lanyards in the gift shop for $6.95...they had the pouch for the sale and sign to slide into.

You can get from any employee in the casino. Usually the 1st or 2nd day, they walk around the slots and have for cruisers. They also punch your S & S card for you.

The casino cashier also has the lanyards. Sometimes we get rid of the coil and use the clip on our belt loops.

I always bring my own. Often find them on the clearance rack at Walmart. I have several differant colors and still bring a pretty beaded one I bought a few cruises back in the gift shop. I leave for a short weekend in about 10 days and Santa brought me a pretty sparkly one that came from Bed Bath and Beyond. I also pack my own hole punch. The one from the Casino doesn't appeal to me at all.

Something that ya'll might want to know, and this may or may not be important to you, but the hole punch used in the casino punches a smaller hole than the one used at the purser's desk. If you're using a lanyard you've brought from home, get your S&S card punched at the purser's desk. The clip on the coiled lanyard from the casino is smaller than the clip on a regular lanyard.

Ya know I never thought about it before, but I could just use my hospital badge lanyard. I already have the plastic card holder too because it holds my ID badge. I could just remove everything from that.

Do the casino ones say anything on them or are they just plain? Considering taking my own now...

Give your child yours and just tell them that yours broke and you need another. We heard the same story on Glory in October. Wasn't going to pay $6.95 when I could get one free. Will bring one next time we bring DD to avoid the hassle.

I like the ones from the gift shop better because they are fabric rather than coiled plastic. They say CARNIVAL on them and come in red and blue. They are longer than the coiled ones, and they also have the plastic S&S card holder. They also have a detachable portion so you can leave the lanyard on your neck and disconnect the section that contains the S&S card to hand to a bartender, shop clerk, etc. They're $6.95 but you can use them over and over.
