OCruisers Posted January 12, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted January 12, 2013 KK .... Thanks so much for the great picture! It does look cute. DH will probably not be thrilled with it either ... but should not whine too much. Ours doesn't leave until Noon, is only 90 minutes, and drops us off at a bar close to the ship. If he doesn't like anything else, he'll probably like the bar! :D LuLu ~~~~

OCruisers Posted February 27, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted February 27, 2013 Reporting Back .... The Trolley Train was a 90 minute excursion which we booked through the ship. Our ship was docked in Rosseau so the Trolley picked us up right in front of the dock. As we drove through Rosseau the conductor did a very good job of pointing out and telling us about places of interest and everyday life in Dominica. We had shorts stops at the Botanical Gardens and a very old Catholic church. What we liked best was seeing where the locals lived and shopped. It was a pleasant enough excursion to take once. Once back, we were dropped off at a waterfront patio type bar about a block or so from the ship. Everyone was given a token for a free rum punch and could walk back to the ship as it pleased. Unfortunately, this bar was extremely crowded (especially with the folks getting their free rum punch) and had very few tables in the shade. Since we didn't want the rum punch anyway, my husband ask a man in the shop next door if there was a nicer full service bar close by. He told us to follow him. We were led thought a courtyard to an elevator to a top floor of The Ft. Young Hotel to their bar. Very nice -- large, had fans, and was covered except for a few tables along the side for those who wanted the sun. We had a great bar tender and also enjoyed chatting with some others sitting at the bar with us. We were the only ones there from a cruise ship so it was interesting to be with the hotel guest from a variety of countries ... also, the locals who were there. If you have any other questions, I'll do my best to answer. LuLu ~~~~

OCruisers Posted December 27, 2013 Author #9 Share Posted December 27, 2013 When a ship is in port, the Trolley Train is under contract with the cruise line for the day so can only be booked through the cruise line. LuLu ~~~~
