Rare Eglesbrech Posted January 6, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2013 We are on the Majesty in a couple of weeks time on a cruise and stay.Baggage is limited for 14 days so it seems a waste to pack proper formalwear for a few hours on only one night. I know there is a buffet available if you choose not to dress properly but I am not keen on buffets in the evening. Can anyone tell me what the dress code on formal nights is in alternative pay for venue please.
littlegem Posted January 7, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2013 We were on Majesty in May and December 2012. We dressed for formal night both cruises but didn't want to attend Captains Gala dinner on second cruise so booked into La Bistro where the dress code was smart attire. We have eaten here during both cruises and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service on each occasion.
Rare Eglesbrech Posted January 8, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted January 8, 2013 Thanks for that information, that's what we will do then. We don,t mind smart attire as we can use on the second week in the hotel where we would not use black tie again.
techandy Posted January 8, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2013 Just got off Majesty formal night is allocated either seven seas or four seasons dining room, on an early or late sitting. I believe the Bistro is flexible and not formal neither is the buffet..
TheBeeSea Posted January 13, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 13, 2013 Just depends what ''smart'' means doesnt it?
kruzseeka Posted January 13, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 13, 2013 Just depends what ''smart'' means doesnt it? I don't think there is a stated dress code for the Bistro but would be surprised if anyone chose to pay the extra and not at least dress in smart casual - as outlined in the Thomson brochure. http://thomson.inbro.net/seeinsidebrochure/Thomson_Cruises-November-2012-...-October-2013-%28April-Edition%29/Booking-Information/A...Z-Guide/page_209 It's a very nice venue, very attentive service and to me feels more of an occasion. Since dress is smart casual in the main dining room I certainly wouldn't wish to be any less smart for the Bistro.
