air to Manaus for Amazon River cruise

We are booked for an Amazon River cruise on the Pacific Princess in Jan, 2014. I just looked up flights to Manaus, Brazil and they are really pricey and/or inconvenient (15 hour lay overs). What have others done when flying from the west coast?:o

Check with Princess. They may have a charter with a better schedule.

 

Or you can do what we did, and stay on for 28 days doing a round trip from Fort Lauderdale. Not sure of the prices now, but in 2009, it was not all that much more to take the second cruise than to fly from Manaus to FLL.

A quick search (Kayak) foiund AA flights leaving LAX to Manaus via Miami with 2 hour layover (11 hours total flight time) for under 1000 pp.

Thank you for the Kayak suggestion. Also, after doing research, apparently Copa Airlines has some good prices. I would love to do the B2B, but that is during Christmas and we can't manage that with the families. :rolleyes:
