River tubing

I'm hearing a lot on river tubing.

Will I be able to book with someone at the port ?

Don't want to book with the ship.

 

Also is there anything close to the port ?

Not sure if all river tubing adventures are so far from the port --but when we went a couple of years ago, the river they chose was so far way and we spent way too much time in the van on the way there and back. While the scenery was beautiful, we really only spent about an hour in the water and seemed like hours in the hot sticky van. The tubing was a blast -- just don't know if it was worth the long drive there. If it were closer, I would do it again in a heartbeat. If not -- I would never book this tour again.
