Star B415 third person

So, if you are booked in a cabin that has the pull down berth but are not using it, does it take up any room or just disappear into the ceiling?

Depends on the cabin and on the ship.

In some cases it disappears into the ceiling and if you do not need to use it it is totally out of the way.

In other cases it sticks out from the wall and can be a hazard to heads and shoulders.

Picture below is of the on the wall type.

Since the OP has already stated she is on Star in B415, which is a balcony cabin, the pullman will be in the ceiling. If you are not using it, it disappears into the ceiling. You only know it is there if you know what to look for. EM
