Drink pkg. rule. Must they open your beer?

Wondering with the drink package if it is possible to grab an unopened beer here and there to bring back to the cabin for later or while getting ready for dinner.

If they must open each beer before they give it to you, that would defeat the purpose. We spend a lot of time on our balcony and don't want to keep running out to the bar each time hubby wants a beer/drink

I don't think there is a general rule about this. Some have reported buying the bucket of beer around the pool and having all the beers opened on delivery. Some have reported that they aren't. Remember that Celebrity is trying to keep someone from sharing the package, and not allowing people to take unopened cans or bottles away from a bar is part of their system to cut down on sharing.

When we were on the Equinox last week, there was a beer bucket special so I bought a bucket. I wanted two beers opened straight away but not all the rest. I had to sweet talk the barman into lending me ("on my honor" :D) a church key. He didn't seem bothered about the not-all-beers opened part but he didn't want to loose his bottle opener. Fair enough.

Next time I'm bringing my own. Michael's Club doesn't open until late in the afternoon/evening and they have beers that you can't get anywhere else on ship. I'd like to bring an unopened beer back to the cabin every night for storing for next day's lunch on our balcony. I expect that if I explain to the barman what I'm doing and it's clear I'm not trying to beat/cheat the system, they won't have a problem with it.
