camptiggergirl Posted January 12, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2013 We have a very late flight (10:30pm) on the day the cruise ends. His mom will be driving us from the pier to the airport. Any suggestions on what we can or should do in Houston?
Snow cat Posted January 12, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2013 You may not have to worry about making plans if the fog kicks in when you return. Today's Crown Princess (Jan 12 return) is hoping to dock at 3 p.m. due to fog.
Texas Tillie Posted January 12, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2013 We have a very late flight (10:30pm) on the day the cruise ends. His mom will be driving us from the pier to the airport. Any suggestions on what we can or should do in Houston? Which airport - IAH or HOU? That will determine a lot.

Shekim Posted January 12, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2013 Kemah, there are some quaint shops; or take a walk on the Strand in Galveston. I just heard on the news today that Houston ranks 7/45 for a great place to visit. I, personally, don't see it. But yes, the museum district holds its own. Houston has some great restaurants as well. You can also go tour the San Jacinto Monument (learn about Texas' Independence). Be sure and watch the film and go up to the top. Battleship Texas is right there too. I can't remember if they are refurbishing it now or not. Last time we were there we couldn't tour it.
