Soda & more card

I was charged for hot chocolate even though I had the UKP sticker. Perhaps my server was wrong or perhaps this information is inaccurate (it's hard to tell with Princess). One server had previously told me that hot chocolate was included but when another server charged me I assumed that the first server was mistaken.

My favorite UKP drink was the Key West Cooler -- very refreshing! It was hard to get any of the bartenders to explain which alcoholic drinks they could make as a mocktail. I'm sure I missed out on trying some additional drinks that were not listed in the back under the non-alcoholic drinks.

Hot chocolates are definitely in the UKP deal. The server that charged you was wrong.

Technically you are not allowed to share. However there are people who will do it anyway.

For some reason, I did not see anyone selling soda stickers when we embarked the Sapphire Princess last week. We immediately went to the dining room for lunch, and I was able to purchase it there, while waiting for my appetizer. However I didn't realize that they gave me the ultimate sticker (I usually just get a soda sticker) until it was too late. I figured it out when I saw 'UKP' on my sticker. Since it was only a 4 day cruise, I decided not to fuss.

As it turned out, the sticker was awesome! For about $8 per day (including gratuity) I not only had tons of sodas, but I also had a couple of extra drinks each day: milkshakes, a mocktail, a hot chocolate, etc. My favorite was the virgin raspberry margaritas. It was worth the extra couple of dollars! So much so that I will be buying this card again on my 2 upcoming Princess cruises!

Okay, not sure if I am reading this right. If you buy before you sail, you pay tax but if you pre purchase or wait until sail away no tax? Just asking for clarification. I won't need the first day cause I will be drinking the wine I brought on board as per princess rules. Thanks in advance for information

You can't get duty free while in US territory, so you have to wait until you are in international waters to get the casinos & shops open. While in port or pre cruise, you have to pay the applicable taxes. You don't pay tax in the shops, either, which is why they are closed at the ports.

I think it's 7 miles out that everything opens up. (But I'm not sure about that) It doesn't take very long before those casinos are open - they want those doors open ASAP! That's when you know you're in tax free zone. When we take the kids, we are doing 4 soda cards, two are UPK, so we just wait. Every penny helps.

Can someone tell me how to pre-book the soda package I went on line to my booking reservations and cannot find anything, or does it need to be only faxed in?

Thanks

Did you read the posting just above yours??:)

...and you can phone their 800 number.

im sorry, how would they know ur sharing a card? do they only allow 1 drink at a time? can't u return 10 min later, get something else :)

im going with 2 kids, while i don't need Soda, i do want juice access, and already paying $8x7 = $56 for just JUICE is ridiculous, and 2 kids == $112, where other lines incl. it. Nor do i want to bring on a costco size pallet of juice with me ;)

"where other lines incl. it." Maybe booking with one of those other cruise lines would have been a better choice  Oh, let me guess.... the fare probably cost more since those amenities are standard.

You *can* do this. However technically it is against the rules.

Juice is free at breakfast. You can also get lemonade for free in the buffet and (I believe) the dining rooms all day. Iced Tea is also available for free.

There is a fridge in your room. Sometimes we will fill up water bottles with juice at breakfast time and then leave them in our fridge all day, to enjoy when we please.

Why not save even more money and just ask a rando to get you some juice with their card? Or nominate 1 person per voyage to buy the card and get juice for the other 3000 passengers?

As for "juice access," your kids can always buy the juice by the glass. It might even be less expensive that way -- and better than teaching them a lesson that it's okay to break the rules and cheat the system.

I was just about to order the UKP in advance along with a few other items and I decided not to. The reason being I remember on a prior cruise (our wedding cruise) I signed up with a crew member who was selling soda packages during sail away.

I signed up myseld, DW and got the rest of the interested people in our party to sign up with this man.... he was SO APPRECIATIVE! I think they get judged on how many they sell and we made his day. The rest of the weeklong cruise whenever I saw him he would light up, wave and tell me "Hello Senor Steve!" :D

I made his day by getting him some sales and he made my day every time I saw him and was warmly greeted. Just a thought on a simple way to make a crew members day instead of pre-ordering ;)

We are considering the Ultimate Soda and More package for our upcoming Panama Canal cruise on the Coral in April. Mainly interested in the mocktails and juices. Besides the dining room at breakfast, where are juices available?
