Casino Cash Question

I always put my slots "cash" on my cruise tab. I don't like to carry a lot of cash when I travel and will not pay ATM fees on the ships. I guess I'm always lucky as I usually win at least 3% and get points from my credit card company.:)

My thinking exactly.

They will allow you to get up to $2000 per day for gaming! Wow. There is the 3% fee, which is $3 per every hundred. But, since I'm getting RCCL visa points for those charges, it's reduced a little in reality. The charge, incidentally, does NOT show as a cash advance on your credit card, it shows as a regular purchase!

Will the casino allow you to put a charge (say $100-200) on your onboard account, and give you cash for the slots? I'm not sure if all cruise lines do that and it's been a long time since I was on RCI.

Thanks in advance--

For only a few hundred, cash is king. We usually have a few thousand with us. (just in case).

And, for those that need more like $500 to $1000 - the ATM fee is cheaper than the 3% the casino charges.

The problem that arises is that if you board the ship low on cash, planning to use the ATM for your cash withdrawals, you may be brought up short: it is not unusual for the ATMs to be out of service.
