wallen Posted January 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2013 Oceania used to provide on-board email addresses that allowed free incoming email. No longer: As of our March of this year the Onboard Email Service has been discontinued. Guests will have the option to use their personal email address and be charged by minute for internet usage or they can purchase one of the internet packages. There are no per email charges or additional fees based on the number of addresses or the size of the email. However, the email will take longer to send if it is large or if it includes lots of addresses.
orchestrapal Posted January 23, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2013 Judging by the number of names I have seen on the board outside of the computer center, there are not that many folks who use this service. Most people today travel with phones or computers and buy time if they need or want it. It' s a very small part of total cruise cost if still somewhat expensive per minute. I don' t, however, see it as a big money maker for Oceania!

sitraveler Posted January 23, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 23, 2013 Oceania used to provide NO free incoming service, there was a $3.00 charge for incoming e-mails. Now, Oceania at sea does provide a free incoming service. Outgoing always had a charge. the daily service does allow those with heavy usage to save significant amounts over the older system, much like the booze program. We also remember paying for water and no fridges in the rooms.
