Casino Rates

Where are you finding Casino Rates? I searched all promos (there are so many) http://www.carnival.com/legal/specials-terms-conditions.aspx (there are so many here, adding only more confusion to the new pricing system).

Do you have to be signed up with the Player's Club first to receive these Casino Rate deals? Are they published anywhere? and, if not how can you monitor the price of your sailing if the casino rate drops)?

I see the big fish get their cruise free with the exception of fees, taxes, tips and personal charges. Niceeee.

All of my casino rates have been sent to me on offers through the mail. That being said, those same rates show on the Carnival website if you are signed in with your VIFP number. In other words, if you are checking online while signed in and don't see any casino offers, then you aren't eligible for any right now. I was told that people are randomly selected for these offers and that they have nothing to do with your amount of play. Whether this is true or not, I have no idea. I am by no means a high roller, but my next cruise on the Breeze in April is a casino rate. I got 25% off and $100 casino credit. I know others that have been offered much better deals, but I'm not complaining.

The way I understand the casino rate is that is on 'select' sailings though maybe Sept 2013 but must be booked before Feb 8th (maybe - but I know it is early Feb.).

You have to be a OCP member to receive the offer - which I believe only requires that you at least put your S&S card in a slot machine, set up a 'player bank', and play a bit. This would also mean you are a past guest.

Hope that helps:o.

Also get them in the mail. Our next cruise I was able to book for less than the ES rate and I got a $75 casino credit. DH got $25. worked for us.

I don' t think that I formally signed up. I use my sign and sail card in the slot machine and give to the craps dealer for rating. Now I get promo mailings a couple time per year of the specials. I am unfortunately not one of the big fish but I am usually offered a 20% off fare deal. The casino specials from Ocean Players Club are separate from CCL I believe. I do not recall if my discount offers would apply to an early saver rate. I'll have to try that angle the next promo deal I receive.

Thank you. I will register with the player's club next time. I go into the casinos every cruise, but am not a high roller either so I never bothered to register. I didn't think there would be any benefit for me to do it if I wasn't a big gambler. Apparently, that's not the case anymore. So, thanks again.

I am not a big fish either, just a couple $100s in the slots and I get the casino offers. I booked ES at $993.72 and got a Casino rate for $743.72. So a nice $250 OBC and $50 at the casino cage for my March cruise. When I check rates I just make sure my VIFP # is entered and any special rates I qualify for pop up w all others.

I'm not getting the "more the merrier" rate that some have been talking about.

Okay, so the discount might not be off the lowest available rate anyway.

Can you monitor the casino rate or does the "current" offer disappear from your view if you're already booked with it.

Not seeing it when signed in but thx for letting me know that. Do you remember if your 25% off fare was less than the cheapest fare for your cabin category at the time you booked?

I have a casino rate showing right now that is $60 cheaper pp. choosing your stateroom. It does say "exclusive to Carnival Players Club members."

okay. i'll have to sign up (I haven't even put my card in when playing slots, and have never given it to a dealer).

i'll still play with the sailings to see if it shows up on one and not another without me being registered.

I guess I just don't spend enough gamblilng to receive any offers. When I checked for my offers it said I had none. I am sailing on the same Breeze cruise as you and have received no offers. I can't wait for April and to check out our Cove balcony.

Both my wife and I joined the OPC, whether on purpose or by accident I don't recall, but when I go to the Carnival website under my login it shows whatever the rate is but if I log in under her name it shows special rates for OPC members and it's was over $100 cheaper for the same cabin. When we booked our next cruise the other day, we did it under her name and got that rate for both of us but not for the other cabin for our kids. Sometimes I don't understand all I think I know about this stuff. The only difference between me and her is that she usual ends up getting the free drink card the first night there in the casino so she obviously is a bigger gambler than me.

Can someone update me on what we are talking about here? I have never heard of this. THanks

Some people have been posting on various threads that they have received a "Casino Rate" on their booking. The first time I read this (2 weeks ago) was the first time I had ever heard of it either.

Some of the pricing people have gotten with this rate has been great -- a real difference, not pennies. So i went looking. Found info in the link I posted in Post 1.

They're now filling in the blanks. :)

We have received these offers several times. For our upcoming Freedom cruise, our TA contacted Carnival and told them that we qualify for the military or senior citizen rate. The rep that she spoke with did some searching and told her that we also qualified for the casino rate which was the cheapest at the time of booking. We got $100 pp off the cabin rate and each got $50 casino cash. Naturally we didn't keep any of the offers we got in the mail. You are suppose to turn them in at the casino cage to get the casino cash. I wrote to the casino coordinator to see how we go about getting the cash and explained that it was done through a rep. He checked and said that our names were definately on the list and all we had to do was show the cage our S&S cards and ID and they would give us the money on our accounts.

I never new about this. I always sign in with my past cruise #. I just checked with my hubbies # and our cruise for March is $300.00 cheaper under his #. I just put in for it under the cruise protection. Hopefully we will get it.

I love these boards, I learn so much!

The player's club has several types of promotions. One they'll send a letter with a % off amount and a coupon attached for money from the cage. Usually those offers don't limit the promotion to certain cruise dates but you need to book and use before a specific date. Other offers are VIP casino cruises with choices among 5-6 specific ships and sale dates and with a specified cash amount that you pick up at the cage. We've received both types of offers over the years.

You don't actually need to sign up for the Player's club, instead you end up on their radar by using your S&S card while playing so they can track your play. I have heard from others that you don't really end up on the radar until you accrue at least 1000 points. We always have more than 1000 points so guess that put us on the radar. :D

I received a casino rate for our upcoming Breeze cruise. Originally I booked a Lido balcony, as we have had them before and it is convenient place to be with little or no noise. This rate was about $300 for two, less than the next cheapest rate. There was no Early Saver rate available in January for our May cruise. I really wanted an ext aft balcony, but none were available, so I called and asked to be put on a list for ext aft. I wasn't encouraged by the pvp so I made sure I did about 5 fake bookings a day. All of a sudden, about 5 days from orig booking, I spy an ext aft. I called immed. The first pvp said it was available, but would cost $400 more for the 2 of us, but I was seeing only $40. more for the casino rate. The pvp said I would have to pay the $400 so I asked for the casino rate dept. and she transferred me. They agreed to give me the ext aft for the $40. casino rate that showed up on my screen. I felt like I won the lottery! Can't get any better than that. I play slots in the casino, a couple of hundred. My dh doesn't play anything, but I always use my sail and sign card in the machines. I also received $50 free casino cash by letter in the mail.

Wow! that's awesome congrats!

and thanks so much for the additional pieces of information you provided: you could still see the rate after you were booked so you were able to monitor it; and there's a casino rate department! That's great

(is the casino rate dept different from the special promotions dept or is it within it? I have that number and mailing address)

I am pretty sure there are pvps dedicated to the casino dept. This is the 2nd cruise I have booked with a casino rate. Once I log into the carnival site my choice of cruises come up with something that looks like a red exclamation mark in the lower left hand corner. When you click on it, it says it a casino offer. When I go further a highlighted yellow box appears with a specific casino offer in it and it is cheaper than any other offer in the category I choose. Hope this info helps.
