Some comparisons between 2004 and 2013 Carnival Elation cruises. The 2004 cruise was in September out of Galveston and was 7 days in length. The ports were Progreso, Cozumel, and Belize.

I will freely admit to throughly enjoying your review. Your pictures of Uxmal has convinced my DH that he needs 3 cruises in the next year so we can do that excursion as well.

Thank you. It can be hot at Uxmal so be sure to have water. At the entrance, they will be happy to sell you more and even frozen concoctions and cervezas!

Other than fancy paper, I don't see much difference between the breakfast menu in 2004 and today. The smoked whitefish is gone, but added are turkey bacon, chicken sausage. Cappuccinos and Espressos now cost extra.

Perhaps it was the time of year, too. Sept 2004 vs Feb 2013. Everything was greener back then and even clouds in the sky.

Progreso had a Domino's AND a 7-11 in 2004 but I don't remember seeing either in years.

Sadly, from a photo op standpoint, no more Grand Gala Buffet - but it was a horrific waste of food.

Just in time to make my wait even more difficult! I'm sailing April 1, 3rd time on the Elation. Thanks for a great review.

Just wondering... have the Tervis tumblers made it to the Elation for the platinum gift?
