Liberty Disembarkation for Suites

Recommended Posts

Was in a grand suite on Mariner and when we got to Galveston the Concierge led all suites passengers off the ship first when general disembarkation began. Booked grand suite again for crossing in November. Can anyone on LIBERTY tell me if that is what's done in Ft Lauderdale? Trying to decide if I can make 10:30am flight. Booked in first class for flight.

I'd not be comfortable with a 10:30am flight after a transatlantic. Liberty normally uses terminal 25, which seems to have the "slows" when it comes to customs. Add to that the fact that after a transatlantic, there are inspections and crew customs procedures that show down the disembarkation.

I was in a suite on Liberty in November, and yes--once walk off debark completed, the concierge on Liberty escorted small groups from the lounge down to deck 1 via a service elevator. I will warn you through that this only gets you off the ship faster. Liberty disembark has been discussed at nauseum on the boards, and in my case the rumors were true. It took us over an hour and a half to get through customs and retrieve our luggage. We arrived at the airport at about 10:40, we were escorted off the ship at 8:40.

Our flight was 11:20--thankfully, it was a Thursday, and the airport was fairly quiet. Not sure we would have made out flight if it was a Saturday or Sunday out of Fort Lauderdale. I wouldn't chance on 10 ish flight on Liberty

Also just saw you are on the transatlantic--there are additional inspections and the crew as well as passengers go through customs. We were actually on the cruise following the transatlantic, and we were late boarding, due to those inspections and an expected delay in debarkation.
