royal65 Posted February 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2013 We are boarding in Hong Kong for a 24 day cruise and would like to buy wine for our cabin in Hong Kong. I've searched for wine stores, but most of availability seems expensive and wines with which I'm not familiar. Can someone suggest a shop in Kowloon with reasonably priced wines? cruising cockroach Posted February 11, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2013 What's reasonably priced? Most of Asia, H.K. included, has a high (imported) alcohol tax so it won't be cheap as a low tax country. Wines are likely to be from France and Australia. CalmSea Posted February 11, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 11, 2013 Hong Kong has removed all import duty on wine as of a couple of years ago. As a result, price of wine is very reasonable. Go to any supermarket, such as Welcome or ParknShop and you will find wine at reasonable price. For example, see ParknShop's web site: http://www1.parknshop.com/WebShop/ShowProductPage.do?curPage_1=1&mode=&prvItemNo=

flamenco819 Posted May 21, 2013 #7 Share Posted May 21, 2013 Watson wine cellar and citysuper are tend to be more expensive, whereas parknshop, wellcome and jusco tend to sell cheaper wine. But I find that I can buy cheaper australia wine in Hong Kong than in Australia. http://www.citysuper.com.hk/module4_detail.php?detail=904 http://shop.wellcome.com.hk/jsp/sys/Sf_render.jsp http://www1.parknshop.com/WebShop/ShowProductPage.do?service=direct&service=1&service=%24WebBorder.%24LeftMenuProductDetial.%24DirectLink%240&sp=2&sp=3 http://www.aeoncity.com.hk/en/major/01/minor/0112/subminor/011208.html
